How was our breakdown of weeknights vs weekends? Was this game substantially lower than a typical Wednesday? Either way, it sucks that the community can't support this team more. I wish I had the time and money to travel more for the team, and never missed a game when I lived an hour from the stadium... wish we could get the Fairfax community to show up
The attendance was substantially lower by all metrics - fortunately the GA seating had everyone closer to the court and those who where there were engaged and the atmosphere was one of the best of the season, when you factor in the number of people there.

So bandwagon fans were no shows, student showing was terrible - but the die hards showed up and were loud.

It might have been lower than average attendance, but the crowd seemed higher quality which seemed to make up for the numbers. Lots of engagement. I know it was a quick turnaround from the A10 tournament, but they need to do some kinda promotions to help drive traffic. There was none of the usual McKay 3 point shirts, no Ledos missed free throws, no door prizes, didn't seem to be any student promos either. We got that new Commonweath Brewery beer, right? Can we get a $1 beer promo for showing up before tip off or something. The weather is nice, put together a tailgate and get the campus involved.

It's an NCAA event. Mason would not be able to run sponsored promotions inside the venue.

Sounds like a good opportunity for some bootlegging...

Seems like a weird rule, but I kinda figured that might be the case. Sounds like nothing is stopping them from doing something outside EBA though.
Yeah, if Mason wanted to, they could host a block party outside, bring sponsors, etc. It comes down to expected attendance and financial upside.

For events like the NIT, or the WBB NCAA tournament where you have teams hosting games, the NCAA has the ability to even cover up "fixed" sponsor signage if they want to. No non-NCAA partner sponsored promotions, etc.

I did not attend Wednesday's game. But, if I recall correctly, sponsor signage was covered at previous home NIT games.

Oh they are A10 guys. The lead ref has called plenty of our games.

Billups 4th and especially 5th fouls were bs but at least there was contact.

Haynes foul on a clearly clean block was just horrible.

The missed out of bounds call was bad.
I don't think Billups fouled out the entire season. I could be wrong.

They asked Skinn about him in the post game. He just said “Woody is fine.” My guess is it was precautionary. And yeah they were up by double digits basically the whole game. No reason to risk putting him back in there.

Another poster said Newton hurt his knee in practice the day before but was ok to play. So maybe that’s what it was about.
He had that KT tape on one of his knees.
