Maybe it was random? Which seems odd to do.

I have two ticket accounts since my fiancee is still on the Young Alumni rates, and I got 2 survey links.

Well, it sound like most of us are on the same page on this (have we ever been unified on anything before!?!), so at least some of the surveys will reflect that.

My hunch is that they know exactly what the survey results will say but they need concrete evidence to justify their decisions moving forward. It's a lot easier to eat a lot of money — and we really are talking about a lot of money if he's fired — when the very people who support you are unanimously calling for changes to be made.

I suspect the intern or Sports Management major who is going to collect the facts for the senior folks in the AD and present to them will have to say something to the effect of "98% of participants included words such as: Fire Hewitt, hate losing, Blewitt, and please get us a real coach".

I also wouldn't be shocked if this "study" is apart of a bigger business plan for Mason athletics going forward.

So he went assistant to head for volleyball which is fine......However, I think we need a current head coach b/c a major culture change is needed. Plus, a new coach might have a few recruits he can't sign at his current school b/c of level of competition that would love to play in the A10. Its a minor thing, but a major factor in starting off smoothly at GMU.

However, I think we need a current head coach...

I fell into this trap last time, GS. I was convinced we needed to keep the momentum going by hiring a big name with head coaching experience. Coming off an NCAAT victory, I actually believed that we were too good of a program to hire an assistant who had to learn on the run. (I think my clinical diagnosis was delusions of grandeur.)

Four years later after a horrible hire (which I openly endorsed and defended), I don't want there to be any restrictions on the requirements to be our next coach. If he's an accomplished head coach at another school, that's great; if he's an assistant at a good program, I'm good with that, too.

And no more one person making the call. Edwards needs to hire a search firm and do his due diligence. Our next hire will determine his legacy at Mason, and I'm sure he doesn't want to be on the wrong side of history like his predecessor.

Does anybody know why some season ticket holders/boosters got the survey and some didn't?

Maybe you did not give permission for the athletic department to contact you?

You are receiving this e-mail because you provided George Mason Athletics with permission to contact you at this address when you attended/purchased tickets to a George Mason Athletics event or Patriot Center event, participated in a sponsored contest, requested a ticket donation, or subscribed to receive newsletters from George Mason Athletics To unsubscribe, please click here or send an e-mail to icatix@gmu.edu or write us at George Mason Athletic Ticket Office – Field House – 4400 University Drive – MS 3A5 – Fairfax, VA - 22030

Sometimes there is an option when purchasing something that asks whether or not you can be contacted for other reasons, such as promotions, newsletters, etc. Maybe you declined on that?

So perhaps sending a message to the icatix email address will clear that up and get you the survey legitimately.

Just to add, I don't know if the link, which does have cryptic settings, is serialized, which prevents multiple entries from the same person. If so, then any shared links may just overwrite the original survey submitted by the person that originally received the email.

Maybe GMUSSTN can compare the two links he received to see if they are the same, or unique:

I have two ticket accounts since my fiancee is still on the Young Alumni rates, and I got 2 survey links.

If they are the same, I would think the link could be readily shared, through PMs, as we wouldn't want a bunch of vcu fans purposely mucking up the survey.

I like how SSTN pretends to be making an informative post but in reality is just bragging that he's locked down a young (and probably hot) recent alum.

You mean we're not just going to hire Oliver Purnell and be done with it?

Oliver Purnell and Paul Hewitt are going to host a talk show called "Has Beens", and invite Pat Kennedy to be interviewed.
