I believe that 14 posters have indicated their commitment to purchase season tickets for possibly the final season of the Coach Hewitt era:

Is there anyone who should be added or deleted from the list?

Call me beer addled, but I have a weird optimistic feeling about this year.

I love the penis measuring of " I'm a better fan than you because I buy tickets when this team sucks" going on right now.

I view it more like wedding vows rather than penis measuring. Repeat after me:

I, gmu05, take thee George Mason basketball, to be my alma mater, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part.

I think we'll be better than last year but I remain guarded on whether it will be a huge jump up

I can certainly agree with this. With the A-10 losing a lot of talent, and new faces, Mason could steal a few more wins. I don't expect a huge jump, however due to various other factors.

Tom,

Why should any Mason fan (alum or not) have to justify purchasing season tickets? For me (a non-Mason alum), it was as difficult a decision as it was for the 4th and final season of the Paul Westhead era (1996-97).

19 would be a huge jump?

One, yes, almost doubling your win total from last year is a huge jump. Two, I don't think you can look at wins and losses alone, an RPI jump in the magnitude of at least 100 points would also have to accompany the win total to achieve what you think we will.

Pablo, I dont think anyone in this thread is really trying justifying the purchase of season tix. You asked for a roll call of sorts of folks who planned to buy season tix. For me personally, I mentioned why I planned to re-up. I have absolutely no issue with those folks who decide not to purchase. My issue is with the poster who basically said that I/we are part of the problem because I/we continue to buy tix. The money I spend on Mason basketball IMO shows my support for the program and the players, not the head coach.

Come on, Pablo, I'm pretty sure you know the wedding vows thing was a joke. I might not agree with abandoning the players in a down year, but nobody has to justify anything to anybody. If people just want to support the team when they are winning, that's surely their prerogative. I appreciate that you as a non-alum have supported the program for so long.

I not only renew my seats out of support, but I do it to make sure I keep the four seats I've had for the past 13 years. I like my section across from the Mason bench (117), I like my view of the court, I like that I am on the aisle, and I like that I have easy access to the bathroom for when I've had too many beers in the Patriot Club. I've had the chance to move many times, but I wouldn't trade my four seats for another location. Plus, my kids love going to the games whether we win or not, so that's another factor I have to consider.

I also came to every game during the Westhead years, but only because you could get coke at reasonable prices from Jason Williams and buy "gift cards" from Lloyd Walker. (I think that was his name)

They were even available at the half when Westhead was re-applying gel and taking short naps.

Yes, his name was Lloyd "Showtime" Walker, a JUCO transfer PG who never played a regular season game for the Patriots. Jason Williams played just his freshman season before losing his scholarship. Williams still holds the Patriots' record for most 3-pt. FG's made by a freshman (80).

Williams could have been so good if he so much as bothered to comb his hair in the morning.

Legit 6'5" at least shooting guard with an amazing stroke.

Couldn't defend, but didnt matter next to a Langley.

7-5 or 8-4 going into Conference play.

2 losses in PR, 1 loss @ Sooners and than @ UNI or @ Wright State.

1 mystery game is still to be added.

A10 - Davidson - 2 Wins, GW - 1-1, UR - 1-1, SLU - 2-0, vcu - 0-2
Fordham - 1-0, LaSalle - 1-0, UMass - 1-0, URI - 1-0
Dayton - 0-1, Duq - 1-0, Bonnies - either way, St. Joes - tight win?

I am basing this on we theoretically SHOULD play better at home and we're not at certain teams' levels yet (vcu, Dayton). However, I expect us to be improved and we should get to 19 and be in the hunt for something.

I'll be honest, being stalked by 49ers guy has left a bad taste in my mouth. I truly fear he seeks to leave a bad taste in my mouth, perhaps even kill your beloved Jollay.

That, combined with the rise of the Ebola and me having to work most game nights till 7 this year has me considering a one year hiatus and just coming to weekend games--not purchasing season.

But we'll see.

Dont flatter yourself lol...

You sure beat the dead horse and your "comedic" bits into the ground with no shame.

Have you seen to PR field. We are the worst team in it with the possible exception of Charleston, but that's debatable.

I also wouldn't bank on us winning any of our road games (especially @Davidson, St. Louis) or at home to GW.

Also keep in mind Richmond won 19 games last year in what will probably be a much tougher A10 and got left out of the NIT with an RPI of 75. Regardless of our record, if we can't get to 64 we aren't going anywhere except the Pay for play tournaments.

All this without our two best players from last year.
