Searching for Vaughn Gray

NoCliche87, thanks for the insight. We figured it had to be something personal, because it's not like Vaughn could do worse than the players he would be replacing. Somebody mentioned that it was an issue of defense or attention to detail, but I'm not buying that anymore because Sherrod and Allen are horrible on that defense and make mental mistakes constantly.

Any idea if your brother will stick around on the team next year. I know as fans we all says "Oh, so and so should transfer if he's not happy...," but it's never that easy when a kid gets attached to the university and his friends outside of the basketball program. Regardless of where he ends up, I think I speak for everybody in wishing him the best. He deserves better than he has gotten here.

we shall see Tom... end of the day it's his decision and i'll never speak for him... I've had people write me and ask but I can't answer that... but he's gonna do what he has to in the meantime... and unfortunately in the meantime we're all subjected to continue to watch this shit show of a season

and in regards to my "seniors = trash" tweet... i meant exclude sherrod from that cuz he did his numbers here at mason and was actually giving Fordham the business during the game (why there weren't plays set for someone with 21 points down the stretch is beyond me)... but the others i will not change my sentiments on #kanyeshrug

BA and J2 are not trash. They are just poorly coached. And by all accounts good guys.

If you really are Gray's brother this is embarrassing on so many levels. Get a life dude, calling the seniors trash? How many points you score in your DI career homie?

Vaughn Gray is Exhibit A for why so many athletes have a tough time settling on a college/coach: You just have zero guarantee how things are going to work out.

While I'm sure he'd agree that there have been some things over the past 3 seasons that he would like to have handled differently, it's pretty sad to see a kid who came to Fairfax with such promise wasting away on the bench because our coach is clueless.

On the other hand, it's nice to hear that he loves the school and his life away from basketball. Hopefully Jenkins feels the same way because it might wind up being the difference between him staying or going elsewhere after this year.

I immediately like VG's brother and his fantastic avatar.

We all know VG had some personal things going on last year that perhaps precluded maximum effort and focus in practice. What irritated me was he was supposed to get a fresh start/chance this year and never really got it.

Contrast that with AO and Copes, who get multiple chances when they screw up, and it's kind of irritating.

don't be so sensitive sister... i'm not gonna boast about D1 points buuuuuuuuut your rite i have none... turned down a Boise State and St Francis scholly to stay at an academically strong D3 school... led em to a sweet 16 appearance for the first time in school history, all-time leading scorer record, numerous accolades, and graduated with a degree and have a well paying career in manhattan... I guess those are things I should be embarrassed about huh? so much for my life ......

Very irritating. I'd like to think I could look past the poor results, at least somewhat, if the effort and energy were there and we just didn't have the horses. But what gets me more than anything is the team chemistry and player/coach relationships, especially with a guy that has a rep as a "players' coach".

I'm glad to see NoCliche here and not pulling punches. How do you go from playing 23 decent mins against Oklahoma to 12 mins over the next 11 games???

Vaughn Gray's brother Virgil holds several records at D-III Stevens Institute of Technology including most career points (1,747).

LOL the fact that you responded to that proves you're not really who you say you are and are clearly catering to the 4o year olds on here. Kudos., I'll bite. Tell your bro to transfer and stop knocking up young girls.
