He has a dog-shit reputation among ACC fans. They see him as a doormat, easy win, poor road record, bad in-game manager, etc. Everyone says he's a good recruiter though.

All of this great recruiting I have yet to see, with the possible exception of jalen. The decent teams we play have players just as good and just as talented (or maybe they are just coached that way). It's not like we have a jordaire Jett, Braintre weber or Chaz Williams in Fairfax.

Marquise Moore made Weber look very mortal during our game with them this year. It just sucks Moore has such a limited offensive game right now (although he wouldn't be in Fairfax if he could shoot). Holloway has also been very good for us. Keep in mind Hewitt's recruits are held back by Hewitt's coaching so it's hard to know just how good they really could be.

Maybe we can do some kind of unprecedented trade: swap an assistant coach for Hewitt. He can focus on the one thing he's good at and we can get an up and coming assistant to take over as head coach.

Good points. I wasn't trying to imply we didn't have good players, because we do. We have classy, hard working players. I've met jalen and he's as classy as classy gets. Patrick is top notch. Marquise is cool.

I would bet that Greg Marshall is the long shot candidate for the real candidates for this job will most limely come from the east coast area or one that has major ties there. I know GM is from that area, but he will be expensive but a school such as Wake shouldn't have issue's IMO forking out that kind of cabbage to pay for a top notch coach. I think Smart, Messiello, Paul Hewitt who coached GT, what about the coach at Harvard who played at Duke, and coached at Michigan for I can mot think of his name to save my life right at the moment who IMO is jot getting the Duke job when ever coach k decide to retire. I think WF has enough to offer, but will they get any bites for the big fish out there might look at them as a bottom feeder type stop in which I think they are not. Who knows for it will be interesting to see who gets it, and who is in the running for it.

GMU should let Hewitt go so he can explore opportunities such as Wake Forest. We can't continue to selfishly cling to him. It's not fair to him or the greater college basketball community he has so much to offer.

Hewitt would be a steal for Wake, Boston or Wash State. Houston, Skeets and Krieder should convince him to pull an OCM and take the whole staff.

Guys I think we are overestimating how lucky we are to have a coach like PH. It would be a shame if Wake Forest were to hire him or any of our assistants. For the sake of Mason's championship aspirations I hope Wake Forest doesn't hire PH. It would take forever to rebuild if he left.

Don't underestimate Hewitt's agent. Every move he's made has been brilliant. He could sell Wake on Hewitt and we'll be looking for a new coach by next week.......

An article in today's washington post on Greg Marshall said that with incentives he's making 2 million at Wichita St. He was signed there initially for $750K after several successful years at Winthrop.
