Both of the assistants who got passed over after Lonergan got canned have been trolling for new jobs ever since.

The problem is being associated with Lonergan. His rep is still toxic.

Yeah that was by far the most egregious example of oversigning I can recall in college basketball.

Trying to rebuild a historic wasteland of a program, whatever it takes. It will be interesting to see if he faces any blowback from blatantly taking guys’ scholarships away, but Duquesne hasn’t been on anyone’s map for so long I doubt it.

I don't think he took Smith's scholly since he was their second best returnee... but he definitely did with Verhoeven.. they signed 4 PF-C and return 2 more.

With a name like that it sounds like he would have been an amazing guard at Maryland. Is his middle name Simpkins?
