Also, if you look at Russell Turner's Twitter page, you'll see that there are some certain names who just started following him today...

Ahmad Dorsett is one of those. Another is a current head coach at a high school in Alexandria who just so happened to play for Turner at Wake Forest (Jim Fitzpatrick).

The other interesting one is Shane Nichols, who is a current assistant coach at Hofstra. Started following both Russell Turner and one of his UCI assistant coaches today (Ali Ton; who just happens to be an alum of Davidson).

Based on what we are seeing out there, it looks like a deal may be as good as done. There is a lot of smoke out their folks, and at this point, I would be shocked if there was no fire.

I take some umbrage at the characterization of Mason and our boards over there.. Some fine individual over there chastised outer boards as lacking class? This from a bunch of granola munching tree hugging left wing hippies in California? Sweet mother of God.!

It is not like UC Irvine is a basketball powerhouse. We have been through a three year slump due in large part to the coach we just fired not because of our program facilities or history.

You would think people from the western territories would have a little more class.

Now that it seems as if we have replaced the plague, my next mission is related to Pikapp, and it is twofold:

2. Make sure he has donated all the money he has promised to donate recently. I think we could fund a new Patriot Center with what he has promised.

Fitzpatrick is from the area and played his freshmen year at Campbell, where his roommate/teammate was Keith Holdan. Holdan came up here w/ Fitzpatrick and worked the GMU basketball camp...so Fitzpatrick has helped us recruit in the past. He's been at Episcopal for awhile, but he'd certainly be a guy who could help recruit in this area if he was looking to move to college.
