There was a post this week from the Athletics dept about some award ceremony that was taking place in the Patriot Center and it looked like the dopey GM was painted center court. It was a dark video in an IG story so I didn't get a great look at it, but I think they're gonna make us stare at that IHOP doodle for a long while.
I thought it was projected, but, I could easily be wrong.
Based on the available options, give me a giant lemon-lime Patriot head at midcourt. If we’re gonna be ludicrous, may as well lean all the way into it.
Of all the choices, I'd choose to put no logo on the floor. If I were in charge of the athletics department, whom this logo was forced upon with little to no input from them, I would stay away from the logo as much as possible. I would focus on the George Mason word marks and hope that at some point down the road, athletics would be allowed to have their own logo again (like most other universities as far as I can tell).
I haven't seen anyone discuss the change to the colors. The change to the green doesn't bother me, but, the change to the gold does. It isn't gold anymore, it is neon yellow now. I understand that it pops a little more, but it is a pretty hideous color to wear. The gold-ness gave it a little bit of class to wear as a color. Neon yellow is not a color that can be easily worn on it's own.
