Yet they broke their own rule on the hat in the picture Jollay just posted. This rule is so stupid. A logo shouldn't be accompanied with additional words outside of the logo. Microsoft Outlook Signature Handle looking a** logo.

As flawed as some aspects of the last logo were, at least it spoke for itself with the Mason. This one, unless it's accompanied with George Mason, nobody will ever outside of VA/DMV know WTF it means.

Same thing as the just the star logo hats and pullovers that were briefly prevalent when the Mason/star came out. Those were weird.

At least you can sort of discern GM here. Sort of.

I had a high school friend who went to NCSU. Someone asked him where he was going to college. He said "State." Next question...Which state?

I think that's fair, but I know they had a better chance of knowing what it was than this affront against nature.

I mean, the 2004 logo was pretty prevalent during the Final 4 Run...people associated it with that at least.

I've been hoping for this for years. I'd rather have 2-3 more home games than watch a kid broadcast from Jacksonville on his cell phone while some other kid screams at every made shot like it's the NCAA final. Start small (Howard, American, and Georgetown because they suck and should be happy to play anywhere at this point) and build over time.

To be fair, it’s going to take time before the logo can stand on its own. How would anyone identify Maryland U or Michigan U based on their logos?

I agree, but 90% of college logos
would be difficult to identify without being familiar with the university and its branding.

Just look at the A10

vcu, SJU, RI, GW, F (Fordham) D (Dayton or Duquesne)

With vcu at least they have the "u" so most people will at least know it's a university. They also have the ram horns worked in to give it some identity. Not sure why GMU wasn't used instead of GM if they were just doing lettering.

Would have much preferred a simple gmu. Solid green with gold trim, throw on the quill for the M because the olds love it. Be done.

I forget who suggested it but I do hope they use the Patriots script for center court. I think that would look really nice actually.
