I’m really not a fan of the GM without the U either way. It’s kind of dumb they don’t want to use U because, why, vcu and ODU use it?
100%. If you did a a man on the street interview everyone would know that a three letter acronym that ends with U is a university. No one is gonna know GM is George Mason University. It's completely retarded. That's why they have to print "George Mason University" next to the logo.

I really want to like the new gear, but I find myself standing at that merch table just shaking my head and hoping one day there will be something there that doesn't look like garbage.

I found myself doing the exact same thing at EBA a few weeks ago. I only get down for 1-2 games a year, and every time I'm ready to drop $$$ on new merch only to continue to be disappointed that they offer nothing but generic, non-team issued designs.

Also pretty comical that the only place to buy merch in-arena is a literal folding table. My high school in bumf*** CT had the same setup.

I see “GM” as a way to undo the bad decision of just using Mason for the past 20 years. It forces people to say George Mason.

Georgia Tech uses GT, but no one says GT when referring to that school, they say Georgia Tech.

I went by the school store last night. Surprisingly, they still have some star logo gear and other apparel that's simple green and gold "George Mason University". I wasn't able to find a basic green shirt with gold lettering though, aside from the George Mason Basketball shirt.

I also went my Dicks Sporting Goods at Fair Oaks Mall. They have some GMU gear in the back of the store. They carry about 2x as much JMU gear for some reason. Probably more than VT or UVA.

Well yes but their name is Georgia Institute of Technology, so shortening it to Georgia Tech makes sense (just like Cal Tech or Virginia Tech, which is really Virginia Polytechnic Institue and State University).
