Moton with only 8 MEAC conf losses in 4 season. Thats impressive. But it is the MEAC. But I love his personality.

The guy comes from a rough background and seems to be someone who is going to do whatever it takes to make it. I think he's the kind of coach who players would die to play for.

Prohm is the top choice for me at this point, but not by much.

No. My fear is Edwards is holding out for who he wants that is probably still coaching, and then much like before we are left with candidates that were not high on our list, because the "back ups" already took good gigs, and we miss out on the one we really wanted due to something out of left field disrupting the coaching carousel.

We cant do anything about but just hope things work out...

No. It was the fact he left later in the cycle in late April....which left us in the lurch on candidates in terms of timing.

This time, the delay maybe because of our targets still coaching and if we dont get the one, due to another late BCS hire and fire.....again other good candidates could be gone.

Well yes were caught off guard and didnt have one.

But most coaches are hired in March/ by first of April. We didnt get notice to go looking for a coach till nearly the end of April last time. So not only did we not have a list, many fire and hires were already done.

Think about all the candidates we like now, that are also being pursued. Do you think they will be available for interviews a month + from now?

There was plenty of time to prepare a list of excellent candidates to replace Larranaga. The problem was that TOC chose to consider just 2 candidates: Jim Baron & Paul Hewitt.

I am by no means overlooking the lack of work by TOC at that moment. It only made a bad situation worse.

But as well all know, when you have been at the bar all night, passed on some decent ladies who have already gone home with someone else, and go looking for that special one 10 minutes before last call, your available selections become limited.

If you don't think timing is crucial, then by all means we should just wait till June, let the dust settle and then go shopping with our list.

Saying it again, of course it will be an upgrade. We literally had the WORST COACH IN AMERICA. The bar is higher than upgrade over Hewitt. He doesn't have to be better than Shaka or Miller, but I would hope we could get someone that would turn out to be a top 3 or top 5 A10 coach.

When did I imply to wait a long time to complete the process? This is the time to make contact with representatives of the coaches to determine if there is mutual interest. And, if this is done properly, fans really shouldn't know what's going on.

Yes. Guy has no real track record, jumped around as an assistant.

If he is the best we can do....then our BBB either missed the boat on many, many others or could care less about basketball.
