Doesn't mean he won't leave. Brownell was in contract talks when he left UNCW

Yes, indeed it means nothing. I'm surprised it would even occur since if he makes the NCAA he could probably have more negotiation power etc.

Just something to watch.

Hewitt departs on Monday, March 16. It won't take long to break it to him, and us.

Luke Hancock for Mason's next coach. A young, devil-may-care Larranaga disciple to install skilled ball-breakers on the court!

Not saying we should pursue this guy, but wanted to pass it along:
http://espn.go.com/mens-college-bas...f-pack-fires-david-carter-5-ncaa-less-seasons

Nevada Wolf Pack coach David Carter says he has been fired after five seasons.

Carter, 47, took over the reigns after Mark Fox left for Georgia in 2009.

Carter led the Wolf Pack to the NIT in his first season at the helm and also went to the NIT in 2012.

However, he has not made an NCAA tournament appearance in his tenure.

Carter was 74-58 in his first four seasons, and the Wolf Pack finished 9-22 and 5-13 in Mountain West play this past season.

Carter was an assistant under Trent Johnson and Fox when Nevada went through a six-year stretch in which the program went to the NCAA tourney four times.

I guess the real question is how much cash do we have to offer....you'd think for some of the guys on that list like Jordan or Hopkins we'd really have to pay up. Also does the fact that we suck a** now hurt us with potential candidates or help that we really can't get any worse?

What about Dino Gaudio? He got a raw deal at Wake...and since his firing they haven't been relevant. I know I know...retread! But he was 61-31 at Wake in 3 years.

Hopefully that package deal would work out better than our last one did. :vomit:
After watching that amazing highlight reel of John Brown dunks, it's clear why High Point was so good for the last three years. But can Cherry win without a beast like Brown? I have no idea...
