Need the bottom teams in the conference to start picking up some wins or top four is gonna be a difficult this year.

Assuming we are in a battle with Dayton, and Duquesne for that 3 or 4 spot at this point. Simple answer there is to just beat them head-to-head and not worry about other teams losing.

I agree, I certainly find it hard pressed that St Joes will go 0-18 and Umass/Fordham will be just as bad. Otherwise at the rate its going itll take 13 wins or something absurd to get into the top 4, at minimum.

I mean, they’ll get wins. But we’re gonna need them to get a few off decent teams and not just each other. St. Joes will catch fire one night and beat someone good. Idk about the others though. La Salle looks most likely to spring an upset. Can’t see Fordham beating anyone.

UMass played Dayton strong today, not sure if it says anything about UMass or just that they were fortunate that they have someone fat enough to clog up Cunningham’s game.

Dayton is a tough place to play. We got fortunate that we drew Duquesne for homecoming. Should make it a tough day for someone to come to EBA and get a road win.

La Salle already got vcu inexplicably. I doubt that will be the only weird upset in the conference.

vcu came back and beat La Salle, but I think the fact that vcu trailed one of the worst teams in the A-10 by 18 at one point certainly qualifies as an upset. :D

I’m not sure they’re as bad as their record indicates. They’ve run both vcu and SLU close. Fordham is dogshit though. Also it’s time to start rooting for SJU in all of their games.

I know it's still a small sample size, but from Kenpom data for conference games only, we're first in offensive efficiency (108.5) and fourth in defensive efficiency (89.2) . Across all of our games those numbers are, respectively, 105.3 and 100.1.

My understanding of those numbers is that they represent the number of points scored (or given up) per 100 possessions. I think the average for Div 1 is something like 102.

Pretty telling stats. It shows the guys have really bought into playing hard, consistent defense and are using that as their calling card.

I’m only half joking when I say that everyone who plays St Louis should just put them on the line every trip down the court. It’s honestly cringeworthy watching them shoot free throws.

...we finish fourth in the A10.
So, we are currently fourth, so if they ended the season right now, I could start my career as a fortune teller.

All joking aside, I currently have the feeling that I may have underestimated the team and we might do better than fourth.

Or maybe make stock picks - more money in that.
