Ian is trending toward A-10 all-rookie team.

Now that he is feeling confident in his jumper, good luck keeping him off the court.

He's already one of our best rebounders as a freshman, plays good defense and understands what we're trying to do on both ends of the court.

• a higher offensive rating (118.5) than any other Mason player in regular rotation (Jenkins is next with 113.4)
• is third in the regular rotation in effective fg% (50%)--behind Jenkins (68.8%) and Otis (58.4).
• is second lowest in the regular rotation in turnover rate.
• has the highest steal %
• is third in ft rate (essentially a % of time you get fouled while attempting a fg). Obviously Moore is tops on the team and 28th nationally.

I think to get nationally ranked by kenpom in any of these categories, a player needs to be playing at least 40% of the time and Ian is at 37.9%. Likely to get to that threshold fairly soon I would think.

He has the potential to go down as one of the greats. I was so excited when we signed him. Looks like he's living up to the hype. He could be a 30+ minutes player by the end of the season.

Edit: Eh probably not looking at the rotations... but above 20 for sure.

In the first 11 games this season, freshman guard Ian Boyd has just 4 turnovers in 182 minutes and has an assist/turnover ratio of 2.3 (9/4). Per 40 minutes of playing time, he averaging 2.0 steals.

He got my vote, I was tempted to select Relvao though. Boyd is living up to his potential and certainly been impressive.

But Relvao wasn't expected to see many minutes, and it's really impressive how he stepped in and filled in nicely.
