Gameday Experience

Nobody I know really likes Mason anymore.

They always bother you for money and they lose to stupid teams like Mt. St. Mary's and Loyola.

Pissing the Masonettes off just makes me dislike them more although it is true that feeding them Bojangles isn't cheap.

I was thinking we LOSE those people by not being in EBA. Obviously, we aren't going to move one of our most attended games to the RAC. I didn't think anybody would take it literal that we should have 6,000 fewer attendees.

I took it literally and agree completely although in fairness I am often described as functionally retarded.

I know a lot of my feminist liberal acquaintances from Mason are just chomping at the bit to put on their ridiculous pussy hats and go protest Edwards right now.

2000 Tickets aren't sold. We don't make $40,000. Small price to pay to not having to be around vcu people.

If they're watching their team getting crushed, I've got no problem with 1,000 vcu fans giving GMU's AD money.

I think a "pussy hat" goes for about $40 in Ocean View.

Cost of going... Just using my knowledge of going to Disney World quite often. Basing this on 40 people, Students (dance team's) + coaches Airfare: $220 Round trip x 40 = $8800 / Hotel on Disney property (value resort) $90 per night (5 nights) x 20 rooms $9000. There are other costs included with competing im sure. Dont know if they "give" the dace teams tickets to the parks. for one day. They may be included with the logging package. either way you are looking at roughly $20k or so. Maybe more or less but i think this is a good number to base things on.

Do they recoup any expenses by getting into the top 5 or winning the competition, I wonder? It's not an NCAA sanctioned event, so they don't get money from the NCAA to compete.

Yes my son is far more disciplined than I was or am at basketball games. But - you see - I don't care what anybody thinks. ;)

Plus - he gets waaaaay more AOII's than I did at his age.
You two need step up your game. I just had 80 of the AOII's from Mason at my house for a party.

For as much as we complain on here - a lot of it justifiable and myself included - it's a shame when the athletic department tries to do something involving fans like the player weeks going on right now on Twitter and there is hardly any participation from fans.

For the past two days they've been encouraging fans to ask Kier questions for #KierWeek, and there have been like three questions. I understand that your not going to get some great in depth insight from these, but it would be nice to see a little more support for our players. I gotta imagine it's a little embarrassing for the guys when nobody is participating.

Say what you will about vcu or Dayton, but I bet if they had an open forum to ask one of their returning starters a question similar to this, they would have more than just three questions (although the vcu fan questions might not be legible).

I'm guilty, but mostly because the questions I'd like to ask are ones the staff would never want the players to answer -- such as, which opposing player talks the most smack but has the least game?

You're right though, our fan base sucks at making an effort sometimes.

You've got to ask that question right now, Jim. I wonder what Kier would say?

How much effort does it take to start a hashtag on twitter?
