Positives:
-AJ continuing to look better and better
-Oduro looking far better than advertised
-Mar getting things going a bit in the second half

Negatives:
-Rebounding/picking up dumb over the back fouls
-Greens decision-making is still pretty suspect at times for a junior
-Defense after a made basket is still atrocious

Taking care of business at home for the first time under DP. Liking it so far. Gotta keep it up, get a good win or two in the Caymans and keep improving. Could be a fun season.

Really great to be back at the Patriot Center. I hope we can make the trip a few more times this year. Enjoyed the screamers in 115 since there were several Madison fans all around me. Liked watching them react to it, especially as we pulled away.

It did bother me to see so many empty seats. It wasn't that long ago that a JMU game was a near sellout. And I want the student section on their damn feet. Shame what happened to this program, but it's still so much better than it was before 2005.

For all the negative I heard about Oduro not being ready or not being an A-10 caliber player he is certainly holding his own on our team in this early season.
Another solid game for the Freshmen:
13 minutes, 8 points, 6 rebounds, and a block, also made both FT attempts.

I am disappointed in myself that I ate the bullshit I was reading on these boards about him.

I think Oduro flew under the radar because PVI’s guards are ball hogs and never passed to him. (Only half joking).

He’s big and only going to get stronger, and he already has better footwork than any other big on our roster, excellent hands and soft touch around the rim.

A lot to like about him.

It’s not hard to get lost on a team full of studs, one of their kids just signed with Duke. The high school game doesn’t always lend itself to bigs given guard play and quick shots. Rarely do high schoolers work through their full sets.

We still need to see what he can do vs bigger talent, we’ve faced some smaller centers. He has the size but does he have the confidence to bang yet? His footwork though is what will separate him throughout his career, I’ve seen 4 different post moves from him already.

To be fair, JMU isn't in our conference anymore and haven't been a good team in a long time, but still surprised we drew under 5,000 for this game considering how many JMU alumni are in the area and the history these two teams have. Box score from last year says it was 5,065.

If this is the trend line, wonder what this means for the rivalry long-term?

Some may have been in Harrisonburg watching their football team dismantle Richmond/winning their 4th CAA Title in 5 years.
