Way too close. Defensive positioning was horrible and help defense nonexistent.

Does Grayer lose his starting spot to Boyd or Newman?

Probably still on pace with 8 wins going into conference with this weak a** schedule.

Still think we're good for 14 wins.
You really think we'all pick up six conference wins? That's looking like a stretch right now. Out of last years wins I can't see us beating Richmond twice, vcu once or even Davidson. Those were all games where Shevon was the difference. I'd like to hope we can beat St Louis twice and La Sale but everything else feels like we'd be the underdog.

Yes, Grayer is 100% emotional baggage.

Granted, we played 8 on 5 at times, but clutch FTs by Otis and Marquise was a beast! Can't believe two years of his college eligibility was wasted with Hewitt! Kier was solid, Troy looked more comfortable than ever, and Ian Boyd was special! Only negative is that the EBA smelled like body odor tonight. I'm sure it was purely a coincidence there were a couple thousand people in purple shirts there.

I don't think LaSalle will be easy - they brought in some good transfers. I'd replace LaSalle with Duquesne - they lost a couple good players.

LaSalle is going to be better than last year's team, they have several transfers that are eligible now.

6 wins will deff be a tough task. That said I think there are probably at least 4 teams we have a good chance at beating.

GW is in a down year, St. Louis, Duquesne, La Salle.

Hopefully a couple upsets along the way

Phew! Glad to get a win. Don't see an automatic W in the next four. Get one and beat Longwood and Prairie View A & M for a winning non - conference schedule. 8-5 attainable but I'd take 7-6. Baby steps.

Five probably more realistic but I think we'll be better by the end of the year...think we'll beat a couple of better teams at home like vcu last year.

I imagine Marquise as a one with actual competent vet 2's and 3's next to him.

If Hewitt had recruited 2,3's that could score and shoot next to Moore, Jenkins, Thompson instead of dicking around with Okoloji, Holloway....etc....

any W is a great W....

two things that should NEVER happen again:

1. The woman working for EBA at the press entrance was wearing a JMU shirt. Good for her to have the stones to wear it. Bad on the EBA and Mason staff for not making her take it off.

2. During player intros, there was a guy on the court next to the team wearing a VA Tech sweatshirt. unless that guy is funding the new practice facility on his own, WTF?!

Jackson and Gilbert? Both of them transferred though.

Jackson would have great for us the last two years.

Good win, and at least an entertaining game. Boyd had a hell of a game and like someone else said this could have been his coming out party. Newman continuing to gain confidence in his shot. Glad the refs seemed to be on our side. The defense seemed to pressure more and trap more, I liked that. Still don't know why nobody on this team ever takes a charge, it's maddening. Temara will be a good player for us, just needs to learn to calm down.

Watched a little of the UNI vs Xavier game today. They had 12 points at halftime and it was the second time already this season they have been held under 20 at the half. Seems like a winnable game this year.
