I like just Mason as well. Seems like a better way to gain brand recognition like "Clemson" or "Auburn." Just instantly recognizable. Doubt it would ever change though.

Not a fan of the star either but not really sure what it could be changed to. Already a lot of colonial looking theme in the market (UVA, GW)

Recently I've seen Mason try to use just the "M" as a logo, and I like the idea. But I think it can be improved upon.

I like the idea of the Feather Pen in the "M". Especially since Mason wrote the draft to the Bill of Rights.
I know we already kind of have that, but something more realistic would be nice

I still think the forward facing Patriot head logo has some potential. Maybe lose the shooting start on the hat, and use the star in the background instead. Closest example I can find:

I would like George Mason to be the Mascot, and the students/fans to be the Patriots. After all the students sit in the Patriot Platoon.

Yes! I for one am uncomfortable the university is named after a man. I just wrote a letter to the Board of Visitors petitioning to have the school renamed "Everyone is Special University"

I like the bottom left. Just change "George Mason" to "Mason" and "University" to "Patriots." But any of them are good.

It would look better with just a yellow face but knowing Mason and their diversity boner they probably don't want anyone thinking he's white or Asian.

That is almost exactly how it went down. For what it is worth, the yellow was supposed to be sort of like war paint, think Mel Gibson in, you guessed it, The Patriot. It turned out to look more like a lightning bolt.
