I don't know LCIII. There are too many teams in this league that don't draw or have large fan bases. I thought the Atlantic City location was good for the A10 tourney. They are way out of their league in an NBA arena IMO. You don't need to play in a 20,000 seat arena just to have 10k to 12k empties best case scenario.

Adjusted my original post to

"Not sure about other conferences but by rule in the A10"

"By rule you need big arenas to ensure all member teams' fans have a chance to see their team if they want."

I read you LCIII. There would be plenty, however, in 10K arena. Also, why do all fans need to have a chance to see their team play? Make it a tough ticket. Make it a destination. I see where you are coming from though.

Agree a 24,000 seat arena is way too much, but I think the tourney is meant to be an experience that fans could not only come and see their team but also check out the sites and sounds of a major east coast hub and the Barclays and Captiol One arena fit that bill.

They've been doing it for years so I have to assume the A10 gets their money's worth.

I'd assume the upper bowl will be curtained off. It was last year in Pittsburgh in a much smaller arena.

Totally agree on that last pt. about the $! Or, at least, they better!

OMG. Totally insane. Maybe they could just hold the games on the practice court.

Maybe. Although Pittsburgh isn’t nearly so central to the A10 and not as easy to get to.

Well, from what I understand following the "get the CAA tournament out of Richmond threads), the city bids on the A10 rather than the other way around (I don't think we're paying Ted Leonsis rent to rent out his arena for 5 days are we?). And we're also selling our TV rights to the games as well, I'd assume. And having our later rounds on CBS has got to be a big money maker for the conference.

Great point, did not know that.

Also stating the obvious but I think the acc and a ten struck a deal a few years ago allowing for the rotation where the ACC got a year in dc and a year in Brooklyn, and also games next year and 2020 (I think). After next year Brooklyn has the a10 until like 2023 I think.

Anyone know how to get a cheap ticket for the PIG? Going to be in DC Wednesday evening and wanted to drop in for a little bit of the games.

Stubhub is starting at 35 dollars for cheapest ticket. LOL. Vividseats has a lot of tickets for sale but a lot are overnight delivery worry not receiving the tickets before I leave home.

Looks like Ticketmaster has them for $25, which I assume would be the gate price to avoid fees.

Masonfanatic and I are selling our tixx to the PIG games since neither of us can make it. If you are interested hit up masonfanatic.
