There isn't anyting left to say about tonight. The only good thing is that there is only 1 hour and 14 minutes left in the day and then it will be Wed.

The way the individuals on this team play doesn't matter. You guys can go down the list and complain about what each player did wrong. You can complain about the coaching. All that would be erased and not matter if the individuals played together, but right now, for whatever reason, they are not. If we were healthy and focused, this team can be as good as anyone else in this league. We saw that back in January when the team was clicking. But these are kids. Playing a game that is difficult. It didn't work this season.

Let's thank Otis, Jaire, Nick and Logan. Let's not get tied up in the bitterness and instead enjoy what's left of this season and look forward to the next, because it might just be a great one.

The only decent win of the season was Dayton, even when everyone was healthy. They had a an easy schedule to begin the conference play.

They got lucky with that havoc crap from the Billy Donovan coaching tree. Anthony Grant was the first. Now they are just hiring the coaches on that tree.

As I mentioned in another thread, we are now 2-6 against the top 7 this year. 8-1 with one to play against the bottom 7 (what we should be).

We are smack average. And don’t seem to be getting much better next year. That lineup was on full display or quite a while tonight.

They are a very unique example of hiring the right coaches. Add in other things but they’ve done just about everything perfect on the court.

It was a brutal game to watch in person- especially being surrounded by vcu fans as I was. No defense the 2nd half and offense was nonexistent. They cane out flat, no energy or fight and looked like a totally different team- the first half was at least competitive.

I will say Rhodes deserves a lot of credit. Class act- when Otis came out at the end he clapped his appreciation and had the entire bench stand and do the same out of respect. You don’t see that a lot especially with rival teams.

I appreciate your positive (and realistic) take but, while I am somehow still in wait-and-see mode, I can absolutely see the point of the anti-DP crowd.

If the coach has had several years to put his stamp on the program, has an extra team-bonding trip to Spain, is personally responsible for setting certain expectations, and can't get the team to play together, what is he getting paid for?

I know this is an oversimplification and I'm not eben saying I agree with it. But I see it and could be convinced to believe it

Smart man, the writing has been on the wall for a few years now though. DP struggles in many ways. I can’t point to one thing he does exceptionally well.....but to fire him now would be a mistake. It was always going to take him a ton of time to to get acclimated in the A10, why quit on him now?

People love to set arbitrary timeframes on coaching tenures “he needs at least 4 seasons”....BS. He’s only graduating 1 senior from this year really, is it that much different than last season? I’d argue taking Calixte out of the starting lineup has made us worse. #ImissAbram.

We know what we got, we knew it would take time, it’s not as fast as any of us would’ve hoped and we still only tiptoe around a top 100 recruiting class. If ya didn’t pick up on all of this last season - welcome to what many of us already understood and if you want DP fired now - get a grip please.

Yeah, the homecourt disadvantage. Mediocrity is a lot easier to take when you just kind of get your a** beat on the road and have a pretty solid home record.

Fair to ask, what are some of these guys doing on campus on game day and the night before? Where are the creepy stalkers of old who used to follow these kids on campus? Report! (My theory is the all-night practice facility is f**king with our home mojo)

Getting beat is one thing. Getting humiliated in your own arena is something else.

Regardless of injuries, the guys we had out there completely collapsed mentally. Zero fight. Took their a**-whipping laying down.

I hope they are all embarrassed.

I got a side job. Allows me to watch the game without Mason getting any of my money. This way they have to pay me to attend the games.

It's not just their recruiting. It's the strength and conditioning program. Silva lost 40 lbs. Another kid added 20lbs of muscle. Mason had a uva transfer come in who still cant get in shape. Wilson is so outta control he almost killed himself trying to dunk 2 games in a row. And it's not Handy it's the coach not telling him what he needs his players to look like.

This is a good point. Teams like vcu and slu looked like men out there and an army. Our guys looked confused and not ready for division 1 basketball. Something has to change this offseason so they are in legit shape.
