The way the individuals on this team play doesn't matter. You guys can go down the list and complain about what each player did wrong. You can complain about the coaching. All that would be erased and not matter if the individuals played together, but right now, for whatever reason, they are not. If we were healthy and focused, this team can be as good as anyone else in this league. We saw that back in January when the team was clicking. But these are kids. Playing a game that is difficult. It didn't work this season.

Let's thank Otis, Jaire, Nick and Logan. Let's not get tied up in the bitterness and enjoy what's left of this season and look forward to the next, because it might just be a great one.

I appreciate your positive (and realistic) take but, while I am somehow still in wait-and-see mode, I can absolutely see the point of the anti-DP crowd.

If the coach has had several years to put his stamp on the program, has an extra team-bonding trip to Spain, is personally responsible for setting certain expectations, and can't get the team to play together, what is he getting paid for?

I know this is an oversimplification and I'm not eben saying I agree with it. But I see it and could be convinced to believe it

Thanks. It’s not that I’m (and I assume DJ3 as well) happy about DP being a ridiculously poor coach and recruiter at G Mas either. It’s just the truth. Don’t pay any attention to all the knee pad wearing tool bags that give you grief. I feel sorry for them.

I wasn’t quite there yet most of this season, mainly because I was there through the Hewitt seasons. I’ll always remember Paulsen for turning around the culture of this program, but honestly I’m ready to forget him for the mediocrity he seems to be stuck in. Between recruiting and in game coaching, he’s just not the guy.

Agreed, it's nearly impossible to imagine DP being on the hot seat after Mason's first ever winning season in the A10. And maybe he doesn't deserve to be. He WILL be back next year so the best thing we can do is root for his success

Money isn’t the only thing that helps a program. You have to be able to perform. It all goes hand and hand.

We have to be recruiting guys that can beat vcu. Thats the mark we need to recruit and be at. These players tonight are not the answer - only bright spot is Jordan Miller. It looks like he has the heart and passion to be a leader and actually care. The inconsistencies with the players is unreal. Plus there is absolutely 0 leadership on the team. Who do we go to?

Our assistant coaches show nothing during the game - other than Simpkins who actually gets up and appears to coach the kids up. Kelly and Fisher are worthless.

At this point I seriously don't know whether to laugh or cry at our situation.

Say what you want about vcu, when Otis came out their coach made his entire bench stand and applaud.

There isn't anyting left to say about tonight. The only good thing is that there is only 1 hour and 14 minutes left in the day and then it will be Wed.

The funny thing is these players beat vcu last year with Justin Tillman and Jonathan Williams on the roster...

The sad thing is Rhoades managed to get 100% buy-in from his players and we got maybe 50% out of ours?

I don't know what happened, but the talent gap shouldn't have looked that big tonight considering the returning rosters and how the games went last year.
