Game 25: Fordham University, Saturday, February 11th, 6 PM, ASN

We had a pretty good crowd for the Mississippi State game, too, and we actually won that one.

I remember that game well for some reason. There were 2-3 offensive goal-tending calls, which is pretty rare in my experience, and a controversial over-and-back call. It felt like the refs were trying hard to give that game to MSU but our guys overcame the 8-on-5

Fun night until the guy two rows behind us yelled "Sit down, a$$holes!" at me and my family with about two minutes left in the game. Thanks for teaching my three year olds a new word. My husband was beyond livid. My daughter asked why that man was being so ugly. I think he was the only person sitting in the whole place.

Other than that, awesome atmosphere. The pregame alumni tailgate was on point.

Interesting. We've usually had the most problems with folks who "drift" into our section (never seen 'em before and often don't belong in those seats). Had some of those tonight in the row behind us and the youngest kid spent the entire night kicking me in the back. Also had a fat lady in the same row a few seasons back scream like crazy even when people stood up to go to the restroom (total nutso woman).
Seriously, next time complain to the usher about the bad language. On that subject, have I missed something or do they not do the announcement on sportsmanship and vulgar behavior as grounds for dismissal any more?

Finally not having a subzero, windy bone chilling homecoming was just incredible....

Kudos to the alumni association - The party they put on at Dewberry hall was lots of fun and great value. They had beer tasting, wine tasting and some spirits tasting as well. Line to the bars started getting big so they opened another!! The K lot tailgate party had a lot going on and was a good time as well. The GOLD room was packed - great energy - I always get a kick out of how crazy people are with "free" food.

What a game! I agree with Coach P - we played some pretty incredible minutes on offense and defense. It was a lot of fun to watch - a little to close at the end but that's how we roll at home.

The crowd size was impressive - I'm not sure what capacity is now with the blocked out sections. I was at the Wichita State game and that and UVA were the most I have seen. The crowd at homecoming was one of the best turn outs in a long time. It may have been the biggest student turn out I have ever seen. It was full up to the rafters with some empty seats sprinkled in - but great atmosphere I hope people and students continue to come out. On the Post Game - Jaylen commented it was the biggest home crowd he has ever played for at home and really appreciated all the fans.

I totally would have reported him had we not been at the most exciting point of the game. It was nice to have other folks in our section (we've been there for years) shake my husband's hand for standing up for us. I'm not sure if they do the sportsmanship announcement anymore.

Why even go to a game if you're going to be that way?

Enough on this point. We won. Kids had a ball. Alumni affairs delivered. I love Dave Paulsen. I'm sad we moved further away and won't make more games.

Just back from the game.

We miss easy shots and don't crash the boards. Good effort at the end though.

Nicest fans I have ever seen. Maybe NoVa still retains some of its Southern culture

Have to be impressed how our guys have bounced back from the crushing 2OT loss at SLU with three consecutive wins.

That SLU game might have broken the spirit of a weaker team, especially with three players suspended and at a point in the season when their bodies are wearing down.

We're not always the prettiest team around, but this group has big balls, an iron will and a stiff spine. Those three characteristics can take you far.

MOMENTUM...so important. THIS SEASON IS A GIFT.

Imagine Paulsen recruiting if we had another "cellar" season. The whole speech of "I am turning around Mason and I need your help" looks 100% different if we're again in the bottom 4. At least now with recruits, there's something tangible to buy into with progress.

The reason we had 2011, was because we got a better selection of recruits to sell Mason to after 2006.

If you don't keep winning and building...then you might as well hire Hewitt or Dillard.............
