MM's shot has gotten drastically better in just the last month. His hitch is almost gone- maybe he realized that if he can shoot the ball he could make it in the NBA

He won't see the floor next year with Wilson and Mar in the mix

Yeah, those guys don't play the same position...

Unless we bring in someone new, next year's Center depth chart probably looks like this: Temara/Relvao/Dixon. He'll see at least 10-15 minutes a game.

Give these guys a break, it's not easy being the lone big on the floor.

People can mock Daniel R. but he created a problem for LaSalle that Troy could not deal with. This kid grinds and works to keep possessions alive with rebounds and sheer size. Huge wing-span. Give DP time with him and let him grow into this thing. Tough crowd here.

Big men take time to develop. Need to have patience with them. DR has potential and looks to have the desire to get better. I agree that if you give DP and the assistants time, we could see a much different player develop over time.

I was actually impressed with DR's play yesterday. Yeah that shot was bad, but the move to take it was nice and shows improvement. His defense and rebounding was good. His block was really nice and led to a basket in transition. He might not develop into a first team all-conference big, but he will develop into a solid player. Troy as well will develop. People need to relax.

Big win yesterday. Would love to be above 500 in conference. Heck we'd be a top 4 team if we swept St. Louis instead of handing them 66% of their conference wins.

I don't doubt that they will improve to a degree, but there are some really basic shortcomings there. That much is clear. DR was juked out of his shoes, by simple fakes and moves a handful of times, and basic concepts of defense/offense seem very foreign, and then offensively its just at a point where Im not sure it will ever develop above below average? But all in all its what we got now, so its what it is. But if we get a single decent big, I think both him and Temara will be relegated to the bench and will just be spot minutes to give a break.

But you can't teach size, and he does have decent size and he did a good job on some defensive trips and rebounding, but it just seems were starting from a very very basic point. Compared to somebody like Mike Mo, where the body and athleticism, defense was there but the offense wasn't and that came around….we look to be having to develop both sides of the ball.

We were completley ham strung past 2 years in terms of recruiting. (space, offers turned down, take what you can get situation)

Since Paulsen is not Hewitt:

1) He knows he has to develop these kids and make them serviceable
2) He will game plan appropriately if he is stuck with them
3) He will solve the problem if an opportunity arises

Other than that...no use b*tching about how the kids play or what needs to be done.

So then, the purpose of the message board is what, if you can't talk about all facets of the game/team? Was a great game on basically all levels, and the big play actually contributed a few things which is good….

Its not like it was a shock wed be a bit shorthanded in certain areas, and we've arrived at being competitive a whole hell of a lot faster than many would have assumed, and besides areas on the roster, we have wiped the stench of Hewitt off pretty fast. All that aside, if we can fix that one glaring issue (big) wed easily be a level or two above where were at.

Compared to the GW game, DR at least looked like he had played basketball before. So yes, were trending up.

Mike Mo was a post Final Four recruit. Different circumstance. DP took over a sh*t mess and is trying to redo a bad 4 years. I will never quit on his vision and capabilities. Breathe and ride with the development. If this isn't working in two more years I'll admit it. Won't be the case.

My point is...there's no use slamming the kids....they are doing the best they can do. As much as they have to get better, the coaches have to work on them too.

And while message boards are open fodder for discussion and the the deficiency of our front court is an obvious fact...it's not changing soon.

I would rather see a discussion of...can we get 15, 15 and 10 out of Revalo, Dixon and Temara and make that work if we dont get another big. Or something like that.

It's like the Mason Football discussion for me....at some point you just have to let it go and go with what you do have.

Yeah that makes sense, I feel in between on what to take from the games. Hewitt was gone last year which was goal 1-100. Last year was a win based just on that fact and that we replaced him with a dang good coach.

Now enter this year, where honestly I didn't expect much, but I did think wed improve. Fast forward to being a lot more competitive than I really ever imagined at this point, and its hard to not want more right now even though 2 months ago nothing much was expected. We can't do anything about our bigs and Im really excited about our direction, but I get pumped thinking if we enter a good big or at least capable one in the situation we have……we are really onto something. Though it was something obvious from day one, its hard to not just focus on it each and every time it bites us. Its difficult to watch Boyd posses more down low skills than two 6'9 dudes…lol.
