Can you be more specific? Bad coaching means different things to different people, so what does it mean to you?

Do we want to start with in-game coaching, effect on the health of the program, or questionable talent assessment?

EDIT: I read too fast and didn't realize we were talking about DP. I think DP is doing an excellent job and I support him. I thought we were talking about an ex coach.

Losing to an awful COL team, at home, by double digits. I don't care how young/inexperienced the roster is. It is COL.

I don't the players are 100% on board with what DP wants to do. For example, are they allowed to fast break? B/c a lot of times it looked like a YMCA game.

Our problem isn't that the roster is too inexperienced.

It's that half of our players have too much "experience" playing for a mo-ron, and they've either developed terrible habits or failed to develop their skills as a result.

Being a mo-ron yourself, I thought this would be a concept you'd be able to grasp.

But the good news is if in 5 years we are competing for A-10 titles and regularly making the NCAAT we will all look back and say "Remember that Colgate game? Yeah, neither do I."

That was a bad loss. No body can deny that. Even the mystique of the Final Four banner helps you win a few games.

The bottom line is who has a problem with anything Cabrera said? I'm not talking about the venue or the timing or the place or anything like that, but the actual words said?

Wasn't there. But I'm sure what he said was fine. No problem with him addressing
Do people in the quest for justice and equality sometimes take it too far? Yes, like blocking media from public spaces or the various things that happen on Tumblr. I have the feeling that the people who are most vehemently against the recent university protests see that in certain media outlets and form opinions without actually knowing what's going on for sure. This leads to righteous anger and unfounded stereotypes.
The idea of the "PC police" going around and telling white men what to do is an illusion. These protestors and organizers are not anti-white. They have a goal of justice and equality for everyone so they analyze the situation, find places where that isn't the case, and form an escalating plan of action to achieve their goal. Oftentimes, the media only captures the various movements at their most escalated stage, leaving people in the dark as to what's been tried before and giving the impression that they unfoundedly erupted out of nowhere.
Bottom line: the protests at Yale, Mizzou, Clare McKenna College vis-à-vis racism are not symptoms of a fragile, whiny, entitled, sniveling group of "crybullies". These are not the "oppression olympics" and being marginalized certainly isn't something people joke about. These protests and activist students (and I know many) are rightfully picking up where their forebears left off. If you're curious about their line of thinking, ask them. I promise, they'll appreciate it. Don't outsource that to the media and the talking heads.

Forwarding this note to the administration and asking you to be removed from school, as I feel like this is microaggression against my point of view. I'm also offended by your use of the term "white men" - -are you assuming I am male and/or white, or that I approve of these terms? For shame. I am in charge of my story and identity-- not you!

(I kid, I kid... appreciate the opinion of someone that's more closely involved. Heck, I'll even go back and "like" your post.)

The players we have either lack experience or have gained all the wrong experience over the past several seasons. It will take time to clean out the muck of Hewitt and time to give our new players the seasoning they need. While there was lots of bad in this game, I also saw the seeds of the future and like all seeds, you don't bear fruit overnight.

Speaking of which, did anyone notice whether the Patriot Dome did the usual salute to Veterans during Friday's game? While I did ingest a few beers during the game, I didn't notice the salute. It seemed odd, especially so close to Veteran's Day.
I think the salute to veterans last year and previous years had more to do with the sponsorship by Interstate Van Lines (?) than it had to do with veterans.

Guys, I blocked him long ago. If everybody would do the same, nobody would be A) arguing with an idiot, and b) having to read have of a conversation of somebody arguing with an idiot.

I blocked him too, but his posts still show up in my tapatalk app

Hewitt justifiably deserves blame for any regression or bad habits his players experience, but the one player who really thrived under him — or despite him — last year was Thompson. I can't help but notice that Shevon looks terrible on Paulsen's watch. Just let the kid play and stop taking him out during the game to micro-manage him (that's called over-coaching, not coaching).

This isn't rocket science when you have a kid with Thompson's size and talent. Play him 32 minutes a game, run designed plays to get him the damn ball, and let him do his thing. If he's doubled, tell him to throw it back out. There are a lot of things Paulsen gets a free pass on this season, but Thompson is not one of him.

"They lost so the coaching must have been bad" is a prime example of Skip Baylessian style laziness that passes for analysis in some parts. It's right up there with "they lost because they weren't playing hard." I have now ignored PMP as well.

I was really encouraged by what I saw from a game-planning perspective. Ball movement was good and the offense was creating open looks, but shots weren't going down. We were 16-49 from the field. That's the ballgame right there. You're not going to win many games shooting that badly, including 3-18 from long range, regardless of who you're playing.

It's very early...but if Shevon continues struggle and seemingly overthink things - it's tough to argue with this criticism.

Thompson would have had a double-double if he would have hit his FTs (1-9) and the chip shots he had...he didn't do either. Part of the problem was Thompson was waiting for the double team to come before making his move and because he was shooting so ungodly bad at the line, they just fouled him (I don't think that was an accident as the second half wore on) to put him on the line.

Gemini, I completely agree on the missed FTs and chip shots. That's completely on Shevon. He shot 62% from the line last year, which is bad but nothing compared to Friday night. I just hope Paulsen's not getting into his head too much with form and technique. Save that for the kids who are going to be here another 3 years. This isn't another Muscala scenario where Paulsen has four years to mold him. Just let Shevon be Shevon.

Full disclosure: I am a white male working in government. And there most certainly is "PC Police" (although they are not called that) who tell white men what to do. It is usually called "diversity training" and once you attend these mandatory sessions you realize real quick what you can and cannot say or do. Before I hire for an open position, I have to make sure that I have the required number of minorities (including women) in my department. If my department is not considered "diverse" enough, then no matter what, I know I will hire a minority. Because I have a home and family to provide for, I do what I am told. It is amazing how much time and money the government spends on "diversity".

These protesters are bullies, pure and simple. Look at the protesters at Dartmouth who marched through the library where students were studying shouting "dirty white b***h!" and "F**k you, you dirty white piece of s**t!" . Of course, these kind of protests won't be on ABC, CBS or NBC. It would disrupt the liberal narrative.
