I believe this is the poll that Cabrera was summarizing. Perhaps clumsily worded but did reflect the results pretty accurately if you scan the various charts. Hardly a fire-able offense.

Ok, this is my last post on this issue. Parts of the poll were about illegal immigration, but if you read further down, under the table "Younger Adults Hold Positive Views of Immigrants' Contribution to US" the question does NOT refer to illegal immigrants. That table indicates that 49% of whites see immigrants as a burden while 43% say that immigrants strengthen the US.

I freely admit I don't have an answer either - guess I'm just not as smart as you guys who seem to have all the facts and weighted the impacts and options and can guarantee that no sleeper agents have slipped in amongst the tens of thousands. After all, that first responsibility of government is to protect its citizens is such an outdated notion right? No reason to pause to figure out how to screen first, just bring 'em all in.

But I do balance all that with knowing that if it wasn't for immigration, those potato-eating drunks from Ireland wouldn't have ever spawned me and my ilk. I also admit that in the site of God and his Son, they are loved wholly and without reservation and held in equal worth as myself, my wife, and my children.

So again, I don't know what the answer is, but I'm all for pausing while we try and figure it out.

Yes, I would. Just 8 shooters caused the Paris massacre leaving 130 or so dead. Just 19 hijackers overtook the planes causing 9\11. I guess I'm just not as cavalier about the lives of my fellow citizens as you are.

If the refugees are kept waiting in temporary camps - clothed, fed, and sheltered - until a screening process can be put into place, I don't think that's too burdensome a load to place upon these individuals for the opportunity to have freedom and American citizenship for their children. I've a friend who is a Mexican national whose been waiting a Hell of a lot longer then that. He's a trained civil engineer, his wife is a lawyer and his daughters are straight A students unable to receive any tuition assistance.
