Right on. Well I made it clear with another letter that basically if they keep Dave that I'm not showing up next year to a game in Fairfax and wherever I can get to and itll be 50/50 when/if I watch. I dont' expect national titles but several 20 point losses on national tv is downright sad at this point. I still feel if they extend Dave at this point they are pissing on all the things they said in 2015 about the program being fun to root for etc etc.

Guess we'll see.

Athletic director Brad Edwards announced the extension Tuesday. Edwards says Paulsen's two years as the coach he has built a strong program 'and a team that's been recognized as one of the most improved on the court.'

Paulsen inherited a team that went 10-22 in 2014-15 and helped the Patriots improve to 20-14 last season. Those 20 victories were the most since 2012-13, and George Mason's nine Atlantic 10 victories were a new program record.

The 53-year-old previously coached at Bucknell, leading that program to the NCAA Tournament twice in seven seasons."

All just like many folks on here not renewing my season tickets next year if Paulson is there. I am officially apathetic but will watch on TV. Just don’t care as much anymore. The guy never takes blame and he builds up the team in the pre season with no reprucussions . Rather watch the Caps!

I won’t share all the details but he said Mason is “committed to building and achieving academic and athletic success in our men’s basketball program, as well as, all of our athletic programs”

In my view, if mason is truly committed to athletic success than Paulsen and Milleson have to be let go.

yeah same to me. I basically gave him my spiel and how I barely missed any home games until I moved, how I show up for nyc area games etc and he understood the frustration etc.

I don’t get the vibe he’s very happy either.

You could also include Aylene Ilkson, the women's volleyball coach. She has a record of 20-63 (10-32 A10) at Mason, and has lost 19 consecutive matches.

The information they included in her bio is pretty depressing from a Program history perspective, like this sentence: "In just two seasons, Ilkson has lifted the program's overall winning percentage to above .400 for the first time since 2010. The Patriots finished the 2018 season with a overall record of 10-15 for its first 10-win season since 2015."

What can you say about a program with 9 consecutive seasons with an overall losing record? Is there any doubt that this season will be the 10th? The team is currently 0-5, including losing in straight sets 3-0 to ODU in its first ever volleyball match.

I’m just confused as to why Mason’s athletics stink. Largest student population in VA. No football. Use the student fees and hire some good coaches already.
