What should I say in my email to BE.

I might just steal the following from the Hot Seat Report.

George Mason is no longer the perennial postseason squad and NCAA Cinderella it was just a decade ago. Ever since Jim Larrañaga left, the Patriots have become an also-ran struggling to regain relevance in a competitive A-10. Paulsen came on in 2015 and has done nothing to move the needle. The highlight was the 2017 squad that won 20 games and went to CBI, but this is a program that went to five NCAAs and three NITs from 1997-2011. His fifth-year team was his worst yet, finishing near the bottom of the A-10 at 5-13 (17-15 overall).

Everyone should write to Edwards asking him where Mason is burning all the money. Is Edwards pocketing it himself?

Darrell Green is practically a highly paid intern and he has people including Dawn Hicks under him which is super confusing. Would love a yearly status report on where Patriot Club money is going but that won’t happen

Over paid staff is probably part of it. Looking at budgets and HC salaries, Mason should be able to offer $1M for a HC. So $1M, practice facility, 10K capacity arena, hot bed recruiting area. We should be able to attract a high calibur coach.

honestly you’re best bet is speaking from the heart (sorry if that sounds corny). If you explain why you’re disappointed and why the program means a lot to you in a coherent and clear manner, that goes a lot further than reminding him of something he is very much aware of. I’ve had friends write in from Hawaii and Florida just to explain their connection and why it’s so important to them this program gets on the right track.

I've been going to Mason games (almost exclusively as a season ticket holder) since Rick Barnes was the head coach in 1987-1988. I've witnessed the peaks (mainly Coach L) and the many valleys (Nestor, Westhead, Hewitt). I have gotten to the point that I don't really care much anymore since GMU basketball has "achieved" the ongoing status of mediocrity. I see no reason to spend any more of my money on a team that never rises above mediocrity. I've become totally apathetic and I didn't think I'd ever get to that point. Change is clearly needed but I don't see it happening anytime soon. If not, I'm finished.

Ugh no, he sucks. Living on his daddy’s name.
Elaborate. 3 straight 20 win seasons at Arizona State doesn’t seem like he “sucks”. Is this just Duke hate?

Danny White only hires winners... I hope.

I know many people think Mason will retain Paulsen for a 7th season.
If mason was willing to move on from Hewitt after 4 seasons, they should be willing to move on from Paulsen.

I hate hearing about long time fans like you losing connection to the team, you deserve better. I don't think the program needs to spend more to attract a high calibur coach. They just need to restructure their budget and spend $800-1M for one.

I wanted Hurley back in 2015. If Arizona state parted ways I’d gladly be in favor taking a look at him. Back then he didn’t want to coach against his brother, but obviously that’s not an issue anymore.

It would probably require some real money between annual and his buyout and it’s a bit of a risk for a “retread”. I’m not sure he’d really be a full on retread but I’d be in favor.

Tell Brad and company how you feel. Make it clear and make it known!

I could win 20 games a season at Arizona State and I’m not even joking — With 31 regular-season games and playing most of the OOC schedule at home against lousy opponents, winning 20 means squat these days.

Also, that’s even more telling that Dave has only done it once at Mason even though he schedules softer than baby poop.

Especially last season when they went 12-2 in the OOC. They only needed 8 conference wins to get to 20 on the season...and then they get swept by GW and don't win a single game against the top 7 in the conference.
