I don't think either Grant or Danny went to Mason. Chad Dukes went to Mason. Nick Ashooh, formally with ESPN radio just joined 106.7. He's a good guy and likes Mason Basketball so look out for more Mason coverage next year I bet.

do we extend Paulsen for a year after the 20-win season? I say yes. Make sure we put a buyout in his contract like vcu did with Wade getting $1 mil.

It's a nice thought but there really isn't anything we can offer him that a P5 couldn't. Until the money starts flowing in we don't have "f**k off" type of money. Mason needs to look at other ways to make a coach want to stay. I say build a coach's manor.

But seriously I think Mason will have to come up with some intangibles to get coaches to stay. We built Masonvale for low-level faculty and grad students, why not a house for the coach? It's a nice area of the country so maybe that'll help keep people. I'm sure new facilities will help. Maybe keep a reserve of cash for an emergency counter-offer, I don't know.

The problem is that the house doesn't belong to the coach so he doesn't build up any equity. Same deal with Masonvale.

Cash is King. Thats the only way. We are in bad spot bc unlike the artz sckool of richmond, we have no coaching tree to pick from and no cash.

But if he isn't paying anything for it --- its free housing - no need to build equity when you are banking money you would normally put into a mortgage payment.

I love the idea. But a nice house in fairfac could cost a million bucks. But I guess you can guarantee you will have the house for at least 15 years

In the grand scheme a million isn't that much. You could probably even find a way to get some sort of write off on it.
