No credit for Grayer being an exceptional defender on the perimeter ? Harsh crowd for a group that ranked in the 300+ range in defense.

I mean, we have no clue if Grayer is an exceptional defender on the perimeter, you know? We haven't seen one game, and freshmen generally struggle on D.

Imo if he starts for DP he will have to be an exceptional defender out on that perimeter. Jenkins is a fouling machine. New rules make him a defensive liability with his hand reaching, slow footed style. This coach is a defense first guy.
Jenkins isn't a 3 anymore. He put back on all of the weight he had lost and then some in order to play effectively around the basket ... where he should've been all along.
I doubt he will be as much of a "defensive liability" now that he is back at his normal spot instead of being forced to play out of position by our idiot ex-coach.
But I do agree, if Grayer wasn't already showing some good stuff defensively, he wouldn't be starting. It would probably be Murrell instead.
Speaking of that, anyone seen a line on the game? Haven't been able to find anything.

I knew next to nothing about DP when Mason hired him. But every day I like him more and more. I'm genuinely excited for the season to begin-- what a weird feeling!
If I am trying to attract young virile men to a basketball game.....I might have put the girls in something less "covering"......
