Tony already has a very good job in a very good league with a good coach who has a ton of job security.

Alma mater or not, he is not leaving that job to go work for a coach he has no prior relationship with, in a lower league, likely for less money.

Multiple confirmed sources that I have texted with this evening suggested that Paulsen has indeed promoted an Assistant from within. I have heard Bryson Johnson.

Kevin Broadus is no longer in the running to be Howard’s next coach.

According to Adam Zagoria, Howard is now focusing on Simpkins and Kenny Blakeney (currently an assistant at Columbia).

I have to imagine this is the reason for the delay in hiring assistants. Dave doesn’t know if he needs to replace 2 or 3 coaches — and whether he needs to find somebody else to recruit the DMV.

Easier to cheat your a** off at Morgan, that’s for sure. They hired Bozeman when he was still on a show cause from the NCAA.

Howard is a great school and I was never sure why they were interested in a sketchy guy like Broadus in the first place.
