GIVING DAY 2023
Eh, make some moves this off season to show you are really appreciative. Ran into a coworker today in the elevator. I had my Mason jacket on and he asked if I graduated there. Then he said he was a basketball fan and gave up his season tickets 2 years ago. Was one for 14 years before that. Pauslen should make it his first goal to get those fans back, it's important.

I want mason to get rid of season tickets all together. It’s embaressing to see so many empty seats. I’m a big fan of multiple game packs.

If you get rid of season tickets there will be even more empty seats. They just need to have better multi-game plans at a tiered price level. Obviously season ticket package should have the lowest price per game because ideally we would want fans buying the full season. But I agree with you that there should be better options. There's a hella lot of games and its really hard to make them all and resale is hard to do without taking a hit.

Some ideas for Multi-game packages:
Maybe have a weekend package
Flex game package where you can actually select the games you want
Family Package (Minimum 4 Seats)

I know it will never happen. And yeah there will be more open seats but hopefully not near the court. All those people who buy tickets the day of the game are sitting at the rafters.

I would be happy with a staff member moving people to lower seats at half at least.

Didn’t they do that new flex pass thing for a monthly price this past season? The ticket exchange also is a good idea as it gets people in seats that would be unoccupied by STHs.

I don’t think a lack of options are a problem with attendance.

I've talked to a Mason Rep about this. They purposely leave the lower bowl unoccupied seats open for two reasons A) If a current season ticket holder wanted to buy additional tickets to a game, their guest would be able to sit relatively close to them and B) trying to keep it as an incentive to get season ticket plans.

Not even sure how much a single game ticket is since I'm a season ticket holder. I think it's $45 lower bowl, $25 upper. IMO, I think it's over priced. But relative to other schools I think it's comparable. I paid $70 to sit in the 400 level at a Maryland game.

Maybe as a compromise, make weekday games or non-premium opponents cheaper.

Or maybe have a membership level, kind of like the Chick-fil-A's Silver and Red status. For example once you've gone to 10 games, instead of $25 it's $22.5. After 20 games its $20.

Travis Ford took over after Jim Crew’s departure. Crew had a lot of success with St Louis, but he ended his career on a bad foot finishing 14th and 12th in his final 2 seasons.

Despite the shape of the program, Ford was able to turn the program around in 3 years and make the NCAA Tournament. Preseason favorite, and an a10 tournament championship.

I know it’s comparing apples to oranges but my larger point is, DP is taking to long to turn this program around. Brad seems to be a really competitive guy, I bet he expects at least an NIT appearance next year or DP is gone.

Did DP utilize Shevon Thompson effectively. Granted Tacko has 8 inches on Shevon. But Shevon wasn't playing duke either.

Tacko just plants himself in the paint to block/alter shots and grab rebounds. Nothing else and its really effective.

He only had Shevon Thompson for one season and a roster with way too many forwards and not enough guards.

Thompson also had no idea what to do with the ball if he was double teamed, until the second half of the season.

I don’t disagree with you. But I think DP tries to do to much on defense. Just play simple, like shevon should have never left the paint, no need to hedge and clog the paint. Same for Reuter, he’s not big per say, but he is wide. Just clog the driving lanes.

Paulsen should bring back Hewitt as an assistant. Thoughts?

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Nice "Billy Madison" reference!
