NCAA will hold a March Madness bubble:
https://www.cbssports.com/college-b...ne-city-in-2021-discussing-with-indianapolis/
I'm guessing they would use the Bankers Life Fieldhouse (Pacers), Lucas Oil Stadium (Colts), Butler and IUPUI as possible venues if Indy is the bubble.

"There is no word yet on whether or not fans will be allowed to attend the games. The number of venues needed to hold the 2021 NCAA Tournament is not yet determined, but Gavitt said at least eight is a reasonable number for a 68-team field. There are also dozens of more courts that will be needed for teams to practice at leading up to and throughout the NCAA Tournament.

The committee was careful to note that the 2021 NCAA Tournament will not be held in a 'bubble,' as that's not an accurate description of what the NCAA is attempting to pull. Instead, the preferred term is a 'controlled environment.'"

Dan Gavitt told reporters that once a team enters the host city of 2021 NCAA Tournament, it will not be allowed to leave until it is eliminated.

Dan Gavitt told reporters that the NCAA hopes to cement Indianapolis as the host city for the 2021 NCAA Tournament by January 1st. Also adds that venues "outside the city limits" are in play. Keep an eye on Assembly Hall and Mackey Arena.

Dan Gavitt told reporters that the 2021 NCAA Tournament will not start two days after Selection Sunday like normal due to testing protocols. More information on this will be released in time.

Dan Gavitt told reporters that the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee will begin this season in its normal evaluation method, but could rely more on an "eye test" formula depending on how many games are cancelled or not cancelled.

Dan Gavitt also said that the 13-game minimum number to qualify for the NCAA tournament isn’t steadfast. Teams can apply for waivers.

John Feinstein brought up a good point about the Ivy League not playing hoops this season. That opens up another at-large bid for the 10th team in the ACC or Big Ten to battle for....

"AMHERST, Mass. - The Massachusetts men's basketball team has paused all team activities following a positive COVID-19 test result among the program's Tier 1 personnel, which consists of coaches, student-athletes, team managers and support staff. Results were detected during COVID-19 surveillance testing, which is conducted three times a week in accordance with NCAA guidelines.

The basketball program is following state, local and University public health guidelines, to ensure the health and safety of all student-athletes, coaches, staff and the greater campus and Amherst communities.

Due to a pause in team activities, UMass will not participate in the Multiple Team Event at Mohegan Sun previously scheduled to start next week."

https://www.espn.com/mens-college-b...ies-men-basketball-temporarily-moving-phoenix:

"LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- The New Mexico State men's basketball team will temporarily move to Phoenix because of coronavirus restrictions in its home state.

The Aggies are expecting to be in Arizona for five weeks but could extend their stay depending on developments with the COVID-19 pandemic, deputy athletic director Braun Cartwright said Tuesday. They are hoping to play their first game next week.

New Mexico State looked at three sites in Las Vegas and Arizona before deciding to move its entire operations to the Arizona Grand Resort & Spa in Phoenix. The Aggies will practice and stay at the resort and are looking at various places to play games in the Phoenix area.

Under New Mexico health guidelines, athletic departments currently do not allow games or workouts exceeding five people. Anyone who travels from outside the state must quarantine for 14 days. All players and coaches will continue to be tested for COVID-19 three times a week while in Arizona.

Cartwright said the cost of rooms, facilities, food and testing for the five weeks will be about $79,000.

The women's team is planning to practice some in Tucson, Arizona, and is looking at various places to play, including just over the Texas state line at UTEP.

New Mexico's football team temporarily relocated to Las Vegas to practice and play its season."

"Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament Updates

The conference has the ability to change the format of its conference tournament, which will again be held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn from March 10-14.

'We can change our format, we can change the cadence of it, we could alter the number of teams, but we’re not at that point yet,' she said. 'We are maintaining our current format of all 14 teams at the championship.

But if the situation changes, we will have to accommodate. Everyone is well aware of that.'

Fan attendance at the Atlantic 10 Championship is far from a guarantee. Currently, McGlade explained, only 50 people can attend games in Brooklyn."

Theyve got a great plan. No point in fighting with it anymore at this point, might as well embrace it and figure out a way to make this experience as enjoyable as possible. Hope our AD comes up with a way to keep up what little fan interest we have left in the program this year. Purchased a few cardboard cutouts, would like to see something in addition to the ESPN+ stream though.

I think most college hoops fans are cautiously optimistic about the season, but won’t be all-in until they actually see their team on the court playing games.

My guess is we’ll have 20-30 programs shut down daily for much of the season. Let’s hope we can get through it all!!
