I would be ecstatic with either one, but yeah Odom is definitely a proven entity.

One reason I favor Tony as HC and Lamar as Asst is bc we would also have Jai, Will, John Vaughn, Folarin, Gabe, Mike Mo, supporting their brothers. We could potentially recruit a kid all day long with rotating shifts. Imagine that crew walking into a gym. Mason Mafia!

One reason I favor Tony as HC and Lamar as Asst is bc we would also have Jai, Will, John Vaughn, Folarin, Gabe, Mike Mo, supporting their brothers. We could potentially recruit a kid all day long with rotating shifts. Imagine that crew walking into a gym. Mason Mafia!

It is a tantalizing possibility, finally bringing all those guys back fully into the program they built. Having them around the practice facility regularly interacting with our players and helping them learn what it means to be part of Mason Basketball would be invaluable.

Feinstein is a complete moron. So unless someone has more inside knowledge than just him I would take that info with a grain of salt. If they can get Odom they can also get Dusty May. PSU could also be in play for Odom. May is likely going to USF unless something crazy goes down.

Would be interesting, but I think his resume speaks for itself. Probably the most telling thing is that when Kevin Willard went from Seton Hall to Maryland he called Skinn to rejoin him there.

Skinn is deserving for sure. Not just because of his connection to Mason.

No disrespect to Yuri....he has the highest assist rate (Kenpom) in Div 1--Nowell is #2. On the other hand, Yuri's never gotten 19 in a Sweet 16 game! In Madison Square Garden, no less.

For me, Markquis' game was still more "spectacular" in delivering those assists (no look, behind-the-back, between his legs, etc.) than anything I've seen, especially in someone 5' 8". Had 5 steals as well, including the one that sealed the game.

Admittedly, as a K-State alum, I'm a bit biased. I'd be happy to have either one on Mason's team!

Nowell was dynamite. The passes he was making had me leaping off my couch! Just unreal. There was one toward the end of the game, just two minutes left and he's dribbling at the top of the key, talking to Tang, and then - out of nowhere - throws a no look pass at the rim that results in a reverse jam. Jaw dropping!

It’s an interesting question. To me, I’d have to say yes because he’s a young up and comer recruiter connected to the dmv.

There’s a chance that we pass on Tony again, however I’d have to bet there’d have to be a VERY good reason. As someone said in my text messages, short of calling Dr Washington a name, it has to be his to lose.

Nobody can sell the school like Tony or any of the guys from that era. They are part of the reason many of us give a shit. It’s guys like Tony and Folarin who helped us to buy into the program they led. Add to the fact he’d be working with Folarin who is already in the Patriot club, and that’s an excellent duo.

If we do pass on Tony, I have to think it’s because we went with an Odom or someone who’s an absolute stud who has already won. We are looking to pay legitimately for a coach so this won’t be taking just anyone.

We need someone who has something other than just a business/job connection to the University to rebuild the shambles we have been left. I would give it to Tony Skinn for that reason alone and then I would make sure he gets the funding and tools he needs. That means President Washington needs to go to the BOV and force some choices on them.
