Would it have been handled differently for members of the Green Coat Society?
Probably not, @gmubrian I believe was a Green Coat.

They want fans to stay invested in them, but they don’t seem to want to invest in their fans.Seeing those pictures of the complete dismantling of the man's house was honestly heartbreaking.
They basically shit on our whole fanbase. Paraphrasing, "why are Mason fans so terrible? Why do they give up so easily?". I don't buy it. Look at how many people have an inherent reason to root for Mason. Look at how few actually give a shit. You tell me why you have failed to reach and involve so many.
I graduated in 2012. I am the only one of my friends that still goes to Mason games. If I want someone to go with, I have to drag them along, buy them a ticket, maybe even a drink or two. I have done this pretty regularly, because I desperately wanted to get others invested in Mason basketball.
I'm sure many of you are in the same boat. That's why this is so sad. If we let go of Mason, who will be left?
I’m going to compose a very long, detailed and scathing email to the president now.
NoAnyone else think Holman is being a baby about all this? To be fair the person was just saying not to give up on the season 6 games in. Not like they had any sort of at-large chance anyway
nope... and she came at about 7 fans with her corny crony Swimom who needs to be deleted from my thoughts because she infuriates me.Anyone else think Holman is being a baby about all this? check Dr. Gunnies Twitter back to two days ago. You shouldn't need an account to do so... It was BADI haven't seen what yall are talking about, but if someone tried to disrepect the DR. then we got a problem. A problem big enough to where I think the FSC may need a special meeting.
Lindsay from Patriot Club has tried/ is trying to call you. She’s obviously in a tough spot but she’s definitely on our side as fans for a multitude of reasons. If you get a voicemail or call from a Pittsburgh number it’s probably her. Take the call if you can she’s a good person. All of the patriot club is. The problem is everyone else in the AD. They mostly suckCrazy couple of days.
I’m still not really sure why she decided to come after me with the not a fan business. In all honesty, I’m one of the least negative people out there. I've probably been more loyal to a fault. I’ve never called out a player or the staff ever on social media. Others do frequently (which is their right), but why come after me when all I said was I have lost interest in the program. Still not sure.
My only explanation is she was coming to help her pal swimmom, our favorite Mason fan, who was telling me how much damage I was doing to our players and what an awful person I was to lose interest in our program. I have no idea.
Anyway, I’ve come to the conclusion that Mason and a Mason athletics isn’t the priority that it once was. Symbolically tearing down the Mason room was me moving on. Felt pretty good honestly.
I’m not unique as many others have gone though the process, but what makes this a little different is it was done on social media for a handful to see.
A few have asked if I’ve heard from anyone at the athletic department. I have not, nor do I expect to. My donation amounts over the years have gone down, and at this point I know it’s not worth their energy to reach out. That’s the game this day and age, which is sad because at a school like Mason I feel like you need everyone you can get onboard. I would imagine if I was still in Northern Va and a season ticket holder with my patriot club passes, I’d get a call or an email. Mason has become the ultimate “what can you do for me” business. The few that would keep in touch with me - the Ruges of the world, they are gone.
I’ll still watch the games. Gone are the days of driving a few hours to support or soccer team or baseball team play for the A10 championships. I don’t see a scenario where we come back for a game in Fairfax or see us in St Louis or Dayton. I mean, I’m just a “fan”.
I'm not sure if anyone reads the president@gmu.edu emails. I do know that Brad reads bedwards@gmu.edu, although I suspect he's inundated right now. I sent my emails off today. In February if things are even more in decline, I may email and CC the folks that I know more personally, just so that everyone sees it.
Going to be sending off my email tonight, wanted to take a second look at it with fresh eyes to make sure I'm coming across coherent after #MasonTwitterGate . Hopefully it gets read, I never received a response on my last email.
Yea definitely do this. Already received a response whereas last time Brad probably didn’t even read it.If you put other folks in the AD on it, like Zack/Lindsey/Greg, they will definitely make sure the concerns are known.
Although I'm sure its very well known by now, but they need to hear from everyone.
Went outside to take down Christmas lights and came back to a couple of voicemails. I talked with both Zach and Lindsey at Mason who were both great, very professional, and both were apologetic. I felt bad because neither of them did anything wrong here, yet they have to waste their time talking to me.
Of course, I haven’t heard anything from the one person who should be reaching out to me... but I’m over it. I’m over all of it really. The support has been great, but overwhelming too.
Anyway, just wanted it to be known that Mason did reach out to me and they were very sincere.
