Oh wow.

Well liberty might be a perfect landing spot for Freeze. Christians believe in redemption and second chances.
. . . only as long as they are winning football games.

It is a cess pool down there. It really is. I have two good friends that work for the university. One's fiancee is a local newscaster that interviewed Freeze soon after he was highered. I ashamedly got my masters from their online program. All they care about is money, real estate, and athletics. A fine list of cares for a secular university.

If I could do it over again, I would never give them my money. I was working two jobs and desperate to get my masters so I only would have to work one. I could only manage online school on account of working two jobs. I still regret it. Should've just done University of Phoenix or Devry or whatever.

Youre right, the University definitely uses Online education as a way to fund their vision of athletic excellence.
Liberty has made a conscience decision to pursue athletic excellence.
In 1975 (before online school)- the president stated " its our vision to have our athletics comparable to USC, Notre Damn, to Alabama to anybody"

God bless them...

God doesn’t need to bless them, he’s already paying for everything in the video.

He absolutely cannot coach. He can teach and is a role model for these kids for sure though. Great guy. Coaching mismatches constantly when we play good teams

That dude flip flops harder than anyone on here. All season he was hating on Paulsen, we stop playing games and all the sudden he’s a good coach?

I'll never be a fan of the hand off offense and lob it over the top inbounds play. Not a fan of the no trap press either.
He presses to say he presses. It’s ineffective unless the opponent doesn’t have one person on the court that can dribble. It’s a time waster and useless

Token press. Occasionally we’ll get a deflection because Miller and Greene are long, but it doesn’t lead to a ton of turnovers. It eats a little time off the shot clock but other than that it’s kinda meh.

I mean we ran an offense to highlight a kid a paulsen knew would miss a quarter of the year and then ended up missing all of the year yet we stayed in it all season. If that doesn’t scream adaptability and a good coach idk what does. And don’t get me started on inbounds plays. I’m just thankful Reuter isn’t forced to jump and receive them anymore. Looked like he was having seizures

it’s the nicest zone press I’ve ever seen lol. I like Greene and miller at the top of it but they don’t exactly go aggressive from what I recall.

It’s next to impossible to go balls to the wall on both ends of the floor when you have nobody of any consequence coming off the bench. Especially because if Miller and Greene didn’t score we basically had no chance.

I would expect the aggressiveness to be ramped up significantly because (God willing) we will have a deeper roster next season. We’ll be able to throw guards at people in waves.

Agree with all of the above, and do hope that we are able to turn up the pressure with a deeper bench this year, but I also think this goes back to what @sleeperpick was talking about earlier with Paulsens stubbornness in sticking to a system that didn’t make sense. Why press when you didn’t have the depth to make it meaningful?

oh yeah I know why it was what it was. Hopefully it can became a little meaner with the depth.

I think that press created some momentum changes in a few games. We milked it to the last drop where we could.

And yes he can coach. Coaching looks terrible when you have players that are outmatched though.

From what I could tell, it was mostly used to shorten the shot clock and limit their half court defending. It worked pretty well against teams who couldn't just drive it down their throats.

https://www.espn.com/college-footba...ut-athletics-budget-15-percent-furlough-staff:

"Louisville athletic director Vince Tyra said his department will cut 15% from its sports budgets and furlough staff this week in further economic moves resulting from the coronavirus pandemic.

Tyra said furloughs would be announced Wednesday, but he did not specify details to the University of Louisville Athletic Association (ULAA) board in a Monday video teleconference. Earlier this month, the AD announced 10% pay cuts for head coaches and senior staff, including himself, and included his forgoing $300,000 in bonuses."
