I used to work in the RAC. Anyone who says the cage gym is in constant use is riding the short CUE bus. It's beyond useless as a gym. Students will get more time with the nicer ones downstairs out of this.

I laughed at the first comment where someone can't spell the word "field", and saying the basketball team had one good year.

So, 2006 was a fluke, right? We really didn't play in Indianapolis, right?

For those with kids, don't they teach basic research skills in elementary school anymore?
People who go back to the final 4 all the time are worse than the people who barely remember it existed IMO

People will complain to complain. Remember the aftermath of the Patriot Center rights being named and how Mason "Sold out"? Most of those people never even step foot in the arena, but they were concerned about that. :bricks:

As someone who hasn't been in the RAC in about 15 years, can someone give me a rundown of all these different gyms?

I see the Linn Gym, Cage Gym, RAC Gym... Linn is on the main floor where we played a couple games over the years, correct? I remember one on the 2nd floor, which one is that? Too many gyms to keep straight!

Cage is upstairs, Linn is downstairs to the right, RAC is straight ahead to the left when you walk in (where volleyball plays.)

The RAC used to be my gym of choice, esp living in the student apartments. But I don't even remember a gym on the 2nd floor. I remember the ones below.

I actually think the Cage gym used to be a workout room, I used to see Karate in there, or yoga classes.

Am I going crazy, or is their photo of the "Cage Gym" on that petition actually a photo of the Linn Gym?

"As a club and intramural sports participant, I use the Cage Gym ALL THE TIME. I find it completely corrupt that the university is going to use my tuition to build a space for the D1 team, and I will never even get to see it, let alone use it. I thought they had the field house for that? This will be extremely restricting for club and intramural participants, which we have over 2,000 unique participants for, while there's what, 20 kids on the D1 team? And barely any students go to the games anyway? This is ridiculous and an alternative needs to be found."

This person appears to A.) not know what they're talking about and B.) is a part of the problem with our student "support" for Mason basketball

I played intramural sports when there were less facilities available then now and only ever played in the cage gym for pick up basketball games on few occasions.

I'll bet if EBA offered 20GbS Wi-Fi
at least student attendance would increase.
They still wouldn't watch the game over their phones,
but at least there would be asses in seats.

Whoa, that rhymes!:superhappy:

I think it's ridiculous that we're trying to replace the Cage Gym. Why don't we have a good basketball team first and then start thinking about helping them.
