St. Joe's (Kenpom 1 pt favorite) plays at St. Louis on ESPN2 at 9 tonight (Friday). SLU with a win will be 2-0 in the conference -- a sign that they are putting it together and be a top 4 contender as some were predicting at the beginning of the season?

I saw a post on X that SLU hasn't won at SLU since 2006.

SLU up 7 at the half after St. Joe's came back from being 10 down early to take a brief lead. Reynolds got in early foul trouble and the 2 fouls limited his time during much of the first half. Jimmerson not getting many shots but did make a buzzer-beating 3 just before the half ended.

SLU pulls away in second half and wins by 16. They share the ball well--20 assists on 27 made baskets. Avila and Swope (transfers from Indiana St) combined for 47 of SLU's 73 pts, 13 assists, and 12 rebounds. They certainly looked like the contenders that some were predicting. We'll have a good read soon as their next game they host the Bonnies.

St. Joe's is now 0-10 in St Louis. Reynolds, 1-8 from 3, was not a factor.

With Kenpom maybe it's just that the games/sample size is now approaching critical mass.

I did notice that Tulane (#232 when we played them) is now #168 having won 4 out of 5 since then, although the wins were against mid to high 200 teams, plus a 13 pt loss to Fla St (#68). Still, a very big jump of 64 ranks.

Madison also jumped up to the Q2 range. Mason had 0 Q2 games going into the Rhody game, now they are 1-1 (Rhode Island is 5 NET spots from being a Q1 road game too).
