Not arguing but it is really tough to turn Cap One into a homecourt advantage. The place is double the size of the Coliseum.

Not to mention that Capital One isn't walking distance from Mason like the brown turd bowl is from vcu

The A10 tourney is in DC. We have the #1 defense in the conf. There is no damn reason other than ones we can control, that we should not win the A10 tourney. We have same advantage vcu did back in the brown turd bowl. Just gotta show up and be loud!

There are 3 good reasons: 1) Offense can be non-existent, 2) Turnovers, 3) Free throw shooting can be atrocious.
Can we overcome our flaws? Sure. We have so far, but in the tourney it only takes one bad game.

The key in my opinion is the scoring margin, in where Mason is 2nd. We score 10.3 more points than we give up which somehow even being inefficient or nonexistent, we still have done well.

George Mason Patriots (32%)

George Mason almost let a win slip through on Tuesday against Saint Louis, recovering to win in OT. But the Patriots still have 32% tournament odds, whether we look at the ESPN forecast or the composite of models -- and it's unclear whether that's underrating their chances. The Patriots were listed in 65% of Bracket Matrix's most recent entries. But they also rank 47th in SOR, boast only a single win against top-100 competition, and only have one real résumé-boosting game remaining (at vcu on Feb. 22). In a tight battle between two bubble teams (Dayton appeared on this list last week), vcu prevailed last Friday night to raise its NCAA tournament chances into the mid-50% range. A lot of that probability is due to the Rams being solid favorites to win the A-10 tournament, though, and the conference has hovered between one to two NCAA berths in recent seasons. Because vcu ranks only 53rd in SOR, it is no sure thing to make the tourney without an auto-bid; the A-10 is expected to send only 1.2 teams to the brackets on average. (Updated Feb. 11 at 8:28 p.m.)

It is a shame there are no more bracket busters to bolster late season resumes. The system favors the big conferences so GMU and vcu will have to be pretty flawless going forward to both get in.
