I really do think our at-large chances are shot. We could *maybe* win all the way to the final and lose that game but I don’t see it. Would have to be vcu or *maybe* Dayton depending on how their season finishes. At this point I’m all for whatever gives us the easiest path. A lot will be in flux until the final day with how many teams are within a game of each other.

Last thing I’ll say,
I mean I would like us to be A10 regular season champions... I know all that really matters is winning the a10 tournament... but would be nice
My simple mind works in milestones:
1. Win games.
2. Win the regular season championship.
3. Win the A10 tournament.
4. Win an NCAA tournament game—again and again!
5. Win the NCAA championship!

Do we want that team from Richmond to win out? Or lose games?
Watching pieces of the vcu - Davidson game, there's no way the rams are gonna lose at home. They certainly pass the eye test for the NCAAs as an at-large.

Our only hope is that they stumble on the road or that they are a completely different team on a neutral court. However, I would expect that they'll get a good contingent of fans up to DC for the A10 tournament.
Hopefully not enough to rival the atmosphere they get at the Siegel Center, but more than enough to drown out whoever they are playing against.

I want to win out, have vcu lose all of their games or at least one, and win regular season championship.

I want vcu in the final of the A10 tournament. If we can’t beat them, what does it matter?

I want the players to want the same thing.

I also won’t be upset if vcu doesn’t make finals.

For teams like Mason and vcu, securing a double bye is crucial. Both rely on a defense-first approach, which can be physically exhausting especially when facing the challenge of playing three games in three days. Im not sure how deep vcu’s bench is, but Mason has solid depth, which could work to our advantage. If Mason and vcu meet in a rematch in the championship game, that depth could be a key factor in determining the outcome.

I know I’m being a bit of a homer, but it’s more fun to be optimistic!

Except against us, their crowd noise will not drown us out at the Cap One Arena.
