Maybe I’m crazy but how is our net so low? The a10 had what I thought was a really good OOC? Did those early losses really hurt us that bad
And why is vcu's net so high? Who have they beaten? Their high major wins are against Miami and BC, both having terrible seasons. Why are they 30 spots ahead of us?

They have blown out Richmond URi and maybe another off the top of my head by significant margins which helped with the bumps. NET rewards you if you beat someone by a large amount and the spread is small.

We're 28th in the RPI Rankings.

NET is the worst. Northwestern's record is 13-13 and ranked higher than us. That's how ridiculous the NET Rankings are. The whole system is in favor of the P5 conferences. It makes it extremely difficult when these high major schools don't want to schedule us because they have more to lose if they lose playing a mid-major.

What they should do is reserve the NCAAT play-in games for non-automatic qualifying teams that are ranked high in the RPI but low in the NET.

Jay Bilas top 68:

i

39. vcu Rams

The Rams are charging their way up the Atlantic 10 standings on the back of the 10th-best scoring margin in the country (plus-13.9) in an attempt to catch a George Mason team on an 11-game winning streak -- they'll get their chance against the Patriots in their lone regular-season matchup this Saturday. It certainly doesn't hurt when four of your starters average double-digit scoring.

i

58. George Mason Patriots

The Patriots have lost only one game this calendar year (a three-point loss thanks to a foul, at Rhode Island), which puts them at the top of the A-10. But for all that this league is showing some competitive teams, keep in mind that it has been a one-bid league for a while now, and vcu is waiting for a slip-up. If it comes in the A-10 tournament, all the better. George Mason will need to keep up its stellar defense (ninth in the nation in scoring defense, giving up just 62.1 points per game).

I move to nominate @The Great PATSby for NCAA President. Will anyone second this motion?

This is a dumb question I know. But outside of hating vcu, Should Mason fans be rooting for them tonight.

It will make Mason’s win against them look better?

what’s up with frank martin? Team is getting its a** kicked and he’s sitting there like a very casual fan…odd.
I’d actually be pretty surprised if he was at UMass next season. He made it clear he wanted to coach in the A10 and doesn’t like the decision to leave for football reasons. I have a feeling he’s either retiring or going somewhere else after their last game.
