Wagner G Delonnie Hunt is in the portal. Upper Marlboro MD native averaged 11 ppg, 3 rebs and 3 assts. Would be a very nice depth piece in the backcourt.

Yeah just based on athleticism alone they are going to struggle. They were insanely bad last year. Mason at 14 is a joke. I think we could throw up bricks all night and just press them and win.

Thursday marked the final day un-graduated men’s and women’s college basketball players to go portaling. Athletes currently in the portal can still commit and be recruited, but the paperwork to enter needed to be filled out Thursday by 11:59 p.m.

If players decide to leave after the deadline they would not have immediate eligibility to play at a new institution, barring a waiver or an extenuating circumstance.

Sounds like it was the last day to be eligible to go to the portal. Says they can still be recruited. Players that haven’t previously declared for the portal can’t after the deadline without a waiver. That is how I read the article anyways.

The "portal" is always open. A player can enter at any time.

However, to be immediately eligible to play in the upcoming season, a player must ENTER the portal before the deadline/during the "open" period. Any player entering outside of that "portal window" would either need to get an exemption from the NCAA or to sit out a year at their new school.

Once a player enters the portal, they CAN leave the portal and recommit to their current school, BUT once a player enters the portal, their current school has no obligation to take them back (continue to honor their scholarship or promise a spot on the team).
