I was thinking about that the other day. Team averages in points per game over the last 8 seasons are as follows - 68.7, 70.7, 71.6, 67.1, 70.1, 71.8, 74.1, 66.9. So, we've basically averaged 70 points per game. It will be interesting to see how the pressing defense will work out in that regard. Will it lead to more points and easy buckets? Assuming we're still in the 70 range next year....

Polite - 12 (11.5 with us last year)
Billups - 8
Maddox - 15
Hall - 14
Henry - 7 (4.1 with us last year).

So, 56 points from the "starters". If you get 14 from the bench you hit 70.
I pretty much agree with this - but Maddox and Hall have never averaged close to those figures, so it is kind of a best case scenario with those scoring out puts.

My biggest concern is also bench scoring, but we still have at least 3 spots to fill.

I’d put Hall down for about 11. And that’s only based upon the sophomore scoring output of past freshmen who have averaged around 5 ppg for us.

As for Maddox, D’Shawn Schwartz averaged about 9.5 before coming here and averaged 15.5. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a similar bump from Maddox.

But this is also projecting based on a standard rotation where the starters are all averaging over 30 mpg. Depending on how the roster shakes out, if we are looking at a 9 or 10 man rotation, you’re going to have to spread the minutes and points around.

Still wondering if there has been any contact from the new staff with Favour Aire and/or Anthony Walker, two DMV guys who are transferring out of Miami.

Either one would fit nicely alongside Henry, Kelly and Pavrette, I think, and give us a solid rotation at the 4 and 5 spots.

I think we are looking for a 3/4 wing guy and possibly some sort of guard (maybe point guard/combo guard). I don't think we are taking anymore bigs which means Aire is out of the running. Walker could fit for the 3/4 spot.

Myles Foster looks like a post up big, not a wing, so we might still be looking for bigs (if not a true center).

I know Aire was highly rated, but don't think I ever saw him in a Miami game, so probably really raw. Walker is a guy who could probably drop down in competition from ACC to A10 and see his numbers increase significantly.

Maddox is the type who can come in here and average 13-16 a game if he figures it out quick. Was dealing with a lot of things last year but he reminds me of the type of guys who have transferred here from P5 and immediately does very good things.

Foster is a 6'7 forward and would most likely play a 4 spot. He also played in the CAA so perhaps he played more post up there and could play differently with us. No idea. I am not sure if he would fit to play a more of a wing or still would need to play post up and traditional. I suspect he would probably play more outside.

It wouldn't make sense to bring in another 6'11 guy, when we signed one and have Henry/Kelly and possibly Ojiako.

Foster seems to be a paint/around the rim type player. He only had four 3PA in three seasons at Monmouth. Looks like we’re trying to stockpile more 4/5 depth.

Walker would fit right in with the other 3 bigs — he’s bouncy as hell and can guard out on the perimeter at 6-9. Pretty sure he originally chose Miami over Rhode Island and feel like he’d do well in the A-10 as a hybrid 4/5.

If Walker comes here, he's a four, where we need another player (that and a two is where I'd like to see two of our three remaining schollys go) At 6'7" he's not playing minutes at the 5 in the A-10

Yes agreed about Walker. I also think Foster would play more of a 4 in the a10 as well and no chance Foster plays the 5 in the a10.
