You are right. Even though this kid was a top 40 prospect, who knows what he development curve is adjusting to legit minutes. Personally I'd love to get a kid like this, have him learn under Oduro for a year (or two) to tap into his full potential.I love the idea of getting P5 players. However, I think we saw last year that getting starter minutes is a big adjustment. Just food for thought
There is a difference between starter minutes and "being the only option" minutes. Hopefully last year was more of an aberration and we have more depth this year so it won't be as big a change with this type of transfer.I love the idea of getting P5 players. A former 5-star recruit most likely isn’t coming to Mason, but he’s definitely not coming to sit behind anyone lolYou are right. That said there's also like 50 other schools who probably think they can do the same thing. Can dream though.
Whether its this kid or someone else, depth is needed because there is going to be an adjustment to playing big time minutes.
I get that, and once again daydreaming lol.A former 5-star recruit most likely isn’t coming to Mason, but he’s definitely not coming to sit behind anyone lol
and those who cant earn a starting spot hit the transfer portal every yearA former 5-star recruit most likely isn’t coming to Mason, but he’s definitely not coming to sit behind anyone lol

As I understood it, a player may transfer only once and be able to play immediately. A subsequent transfer means sitting out a year. Sitting out a year is still a compelling deterrent. I'm curious, how many players have made multiple transfers within the current system? How did Justin Kier transfer twice, UGa to Arizona, without sitting out a year? Did he use his "free" transfer and then a graduate transfer? This transfer business is caca-coo-coo.and those who cant earn a starting spot hit the transfer portal every year
Because he's grad transferringWhy doesn't Bailey have to sit out...played 2 yrs at Oregon prior to UT

Now we’re podracing. Not sure what this means, but per Twitter the staff has been in contact with former Belmont G JaCobi Wood. Seems weird because he just announced a top-6 schools and Mason wasn’t one of them.
Now if there was ever someone worthy of @bygeorge tweet assaults this guy would be it. The exact opposite of any point guard we have had since Cam Long. Completely ball dominant, not afraid to take tough shots and can actually dribble the ball.Via Hunter Bailey on twitter:
"Former Charlotte guard Jahmir Young is focused on the NBA Draft process, but is receiving substantial interest in the transfer portal he tells me. Gonzaga, Miami, Wake Forest, UConn, George Mason, Maryland, Notre Dame, South Carolina, Cincinnati & Georgetown are interested."
Let your dreams run wild.
I was surprised to see us even mentioned in this list.Via Hunter Bailey on twitter:
