Not to step on Pablo's toes, but Brian Miller was a career 49% shooter from behind the arc at Mason, hitting 118 of his 242 attempts. His 51% mark his senior year was first in the conference, was in the top 10 nationally, and his true shooting percentage was 7th in the nation.

Brian is known as the one of the best pure shooters ever at Mason, and his 118 career threes are even more remarkable when you consider that the 3-point line wasn't added until his junior year. A member of Bill Roland's All Decade Team (1986-96), he is also the first player in Mason history to hit a 3-pointer (versus West Virginia).

For the younger fans here, Miller's freshman year included a stacked roster with Carlos Yates, Ricky Wilson and Rob Rose. Here is a Post article from Brian's first game as a Patriot.

Not surprisingly, Mason's highest team 3-pt. FG% were Miller's senior and junior seasons at 44.9% and 40.3%, respectively. For comparison, Mason shot 30.4% behind the arc last season.

Nike just announced it has cancelled its EYBL summer circuit this year because of COVID-19. This is gonna wind up helping schools like Mason and hurt the P5 staffs that usually can afford to wait and swoop in with late offers for guys who blow up over the summer.

Yeah I’ll be interested to see how it plays out. It’ll either be like you said, or P5s will just take flyers on guys who may or may not pan out at that level. One way or the other, scholarships will have to get filled. Could be great for mid majors though.

Will be a great case study to look at the transfer numbers from kids who sign in this class across the NCAA, between not being able to visit, coaches not fully scouting and recruiting over, I imagine there will be a ton of 2021 transfers in the first two seasons after they get on campus.

I think P5s are going to rely more on transfers in the 21 class — especially if the NCAA eliminates the sit-out rule in January — rather than gambling on HS kids who they’ve never seen live.

The way the rules are going, they’re already planning to plunder mid-major rosters. So we may have more luck signing higher level HS players — the challenge will be keeping them when they can transfer without penalty.

Yes it’s going to be difficult. We’ll probably be able to keep our best guys for their 2 developmental years and P5s will be all over them once they’re underclassmen ready to blow up.

Lol he sure can dunk. At least he would be exciting to watch, gonna have to watch some more videos later today.

So yet another 6-7 wing on the target list as we likely will fall out of the Castro race here shortly.
