Fair enough. Paulsen relies on finding diamonds in the rough. He isnt locking up four and five-star guys year after year. I think Pauslen and staff have an eye for talent especially Guards. But I think they lack the ability to convince prospects with multiple offers to come to Mason.
The Recruiting Police might get me for this but Noah Farrakhan 4 star (Youtube the kid he is ridiculous) just committed to ECU. He held offers from Maryland, Seton Hall, Penn St, Wake Forest, Minnesota, Miss St, Pitt, Tech, Florida vcu and UMASS among others.

To bring it back to Mason, looking at ECU's verbalcommits page, they also have an offer out to Erik Reynolds, maybe that's one less school we're competing with for him?
Sleeper you should apply to work for verbal commits since you love reporting about where every kid commits.

It is fun watching kids I follow that I know could help our program that go to shittier schools. (sarcasm). Unlike a lot of the grandpas on here I like watching Ballervisions, Ball is Life etc that covers high school kids. I also like researching recruits (no expert). I have been right a lot (pretty much everyone of Paulsen's horrible recruits, Bonez Hyland, Kellan Grady, Bona big man, Reuter sucking etc) and wrong some too (JDS, Carterare Gordon). I think you are the video guy for ByGeorge so you too should appreciate some of the Ballervisions and competitors products because you do very similar good work. If that is not you then please pass that along to the guy if you know him.
The dumbest things these boards constantly preach is George Mason University is unable to recruit a higher caliber of player. It is an explicitly tired and idiotic take. We don't recruit a higher tier of players because Paulsen and co can't for whatever reason.
Farrakhan is just one example of a kid going to a shit basketball school like ECU that is a better recruit than many of ours.

Better recruit in your opinion. Which, with all due respect, means jack since the kid has yet to play one second of college basketball.
Nobody is perfect in recruiting but I’ll take our staff’s evaluations over yours, mine and every other poster’s.
Jim you have said it yourself that our team is doing it's best and are at a peak of recruiting because of resources, school support, practice facility blah blah blah. We can't get the highest caliber of recruit because of so many constraints... blah blah blah. How can schools with equal or less to us as far as all these reasons you bring up sign kids that staffs way more successful than ours are offering but we continue to compete with Patriot League and lower conferences for our signees. I get you think Paulsen has this secret recruiting spell that he mists on kids he wants which protects them from receiving good offers, but I prefer to think they might just not be that high caliber since no good schools seem to offer our recruits. Obviously that is not 100% true but you get the point.

I am guy who makes all the GK men's videos, thanks for the compliment. I watch a shit ton of HS basketball highlights on YouTube and etc also. I'm in the same boat as you man. I'm watching games from ground level and it's very obvious the skill difference bt some of our guys and the opponents. I hope DP steps it up for us and the incoming kids are up to par with the A10.

Ray Salnave from Monmouth is grad transferring. Hes a 6'3 combo guard from Queens NY. Averaged 14.5 PPG and scored over 1100 points in 3 years.
Will be interesting if schools flip to him instead of Kier. I'd love him at Mason but not holding my breath.
