2020 Recruiting

GIVING DAY 2023
We're slowly hearing about players entering the portal at other schools, so I would assume news would be coming sooner rather than later. The earlier guys enter the portal, the more opportunities they will have to be recruited. That is assuming that we will have a transfer or two. Of course, the guys can take however long they need to make these decisions.

Would it be bad etiquette to speculate on which of our guys may be transferring? At this point, there are only a couple that would really shock me.
Call me crazy but maybe the quarantine will help
Mason in recruiting. Because on paper mason is a damn good school. But at the end of the day it’s a commuter school. But all schools will look like ghost towns right now. So fingers crossed!

Over the last 3 days, there have been an average of 45 players per day in the transfer portal.

The issue: Coaches can’t go out and meet with the transfers, and the transfers can’t go to campus, meet coaches, players, work out with team, etc.

Gonna be a lot of mistakes made.

6 foot 7 Mekhi Long transfers from URI. Freshman from Maryland that was a 4 star and seemed to be a pretty talented freshman for them last year with limited minutes.

Aren’t there typically stipulations on transfers about transferring within the conference? I could be making that up.

Frowned upon but nothing in writing. I think the losing school has to agree to it maybe?

I think you have to sit two years someone said on here.
Lol yeah that’s 100% not the rule, not at the computer right now but I’ll look it up when at home.

Edit- Pablo beat me to it and I was wrong as hell.

People say a lot of stupid shit on here lol. I’ve never heard of that rule but it’s possible. Maybe NCAA rules expert @Pablo can get on the case

"A-10 Intra-Conference Transfer Rule - Basketball
In the sport of basketball, a scholarship studentathlete who transfers directly from one A-10 school to another shall be ineligible for a period of two years. An appeal of this regulation to the director of athletics may be requested by the member institution that the student wishes to attend."

I stand corrected, guess that’s an A10 only rule because it’s not that way in the rest of the NCAA.

By George retweeted a Davidson stat that they've not had a player leave via transfer since entering the A10.

2020 class Swedish power forward Johan Crafoord, from Glove Prep (FL), has committed to Iona.

Pitino is on a roll, and he's been on the job less than two weeks. He already has 6 recruits committed. Three of his recruits are 6'8" one kid who's 7'1" I believe, and just a ton of players can really play.

They will make the dance in Year 1. No doubt.

These kids are legit too, this isn’t grabbing a bunch of Danny Dixon’s and Kam Murrells, they can play. Did everyone decommit when he got hired?

What red-blooded American young man wouldn’t want to play for a coach who pays to bring hookers and strippers into the basketball dorm to service his players?

Oh that’s right. Assistant coach Andre McGee did that. Pitino had no idea.

they also have Isaiah Washington returning for his senior year. He would be a contributor here in A10 no doubt
