I can only imagine what this board would be like if we were 1-3 against that schedule.

Barely beating Queens College and losing to Belmont was bad enough. Now having 4 games cancelled who knows what this team will look like when they start playing again.

Honestly, being bad against bad teams (and losing not barely winning), and then being downright terrible in the league gives more ammo to get rid of Dave. The mediocrity and circling the same block but thinking they are turning the corner is what scares me into thinking they'll not do whats necessary when the time comes.

Great visual. In my head, I saw the team riding on the team bus driving in a circle (square) around the same city square block. Every time someone asks Dave how the team is doing, he looks up and says, "It looks like we are about to turn the corner".

Lol yeah. I mean, I want Dave to succeed but I'm ready for the plug to be pulled if this season doesn't go well. I'm just scared of being in that in-between.

Unless the bottom absolutely falls out, you know they’re gonna use COVID as an excuse to keep him. It’s BS but an utterly Mason thing to do.

While I agree with you, if the season ended today I have seen enough in 3 games of year 6 to know it’s time to move on.

And yes, I will be pleasantly surprised if Washington and Edwards go get us a young coach (Skinn or someone like him) who can put some electricity back into the program. But I’ll believe it when I see it.

Why does the coach have to be young to put some electricity back into the program? Edwards didn't go young when he hired Elmar Bolowich as the men's soccer coach. And, while we don't know how he will pan out here, we know his history of developing programs with sustained excellence at the highest level of college soccer - https://www.washingtonpost.com/spor...mason-hires-elmar-bolowich-mens-soccer-coach/:

"The area’s rich youth scene will help the rebuilding process, Bolowich said, but he also plans to compete for highly rated players from around the country. He said he will also raise the quality of the schedule.

'I am known to play hard games, a heavy schedule, to test my players,' he said, conceding such upgrades will probably have to wait until 2021 because most teams are locked into their 2020 plans."

Yeah because the demographic makeup of the soccer and basketball teams are exactly the same.

Exactly, apples to oranges comparison.

With our budget constraints, and the current climate in college basketball, our best bet is to go after a younger up and comer or former assistant.

We wouldn’t be able to afford someone of Bolowich’s pedigree in basketball, I think is the answer there. But just because Paulsen didn’t work out, doesn’t mean another coach who was successful at a lower level school wouldn’t work out here.

I’m all in for Skinn, though. It just makes too much sense.

Which is why Mason will never do it
Well Jim instead of tweeting how much you love the team and Paulsen maybe take a kinder approach than I do but make your true feelings heard with a simple tweet “hire tony skinn to bring pride back to George Mason basketball @babyballsbradedwards “

Not expecting you to scour my Twitter feed — that would be weird — but I think you’d notice a significant change in my tone.

Not that anyone cares. I have less than 600 followers LOL
