Neither fill a position of great need for next year in my opinion. I like Mika’s tape a bit better, but there is a lot of competition for him at the moment. I guess you could classify it as a “missed opportunity”, but I wouldn’t fault the coaching staff if he decides to go somewhere else. Some of the other schools on his offer sheet should blow Mason away in things like facilities, fan interest, etc.

Brown doesn’t stand out to me as much, so I wouldn’t fret if he goes elsewhere. I think we’d be able to find another suitable recruit to take the last scholarship if needed.

If anyone has been following Cameron Brown's twitter page, he has been retweeting posts by St. Joe's new assistant coach Straughn, the same guy who just signed Cheereef Knox.

He also retweeted a video of a recent interview about his recruitment. No mentions of GMU other than talking about backing out of his William and Mary commitment. Sounds like a bright kid with a 3.3 GPA.

For some reason, I don't love our chances to sign this kid. We have many players in the 6'5-6'7" range on this team returning next year.

He’s gonna end up at Saint Joe’s. They have so many spots open, all these kids see is Day 1 playing time — they’re not thinking about how bad they’re gonna suck.

Our only rise to glory was the final four and even those guys can't get votes to play in the TBT. It might just be how it'll always be and we need to temper our expectations.

The Green Machine are eligible.

Looking at the website, they have 91 fan followers versus Ramnation's 60 and 120,393 social followers versus Ramnation's 17,458. Ramnation, of course, has already been accepted because they've been in the tournament for awhile now and are regional hosts. Looking at the other teams in the Richmond region, I'd be really surprised if they weren't picked as one of the 7 additional teams picked to play.

Best spots for playing time next year are probably point guard, an actual power forward who can step outside or put the ball on the deck, and potentially center (if someone of caliber comes in to unseat Calixte again). Most of the guys we've been attached to so far are wings. We have a bunch of wings on the roster now for next year.

I wouldn't be surprised to see us hold the scholarship for 2020, or get a transfer who will sit this year. At this point, those two things seem like the best option (unless we can convince Adams-Woods to come here, that would be my wishlist 1A).

Nah, you can tell. For example, Dowtin was a better PG than Otis. Didnt come here bc he probably didnt want to wait for DP to figure that out. Another example is Hartwell. Should of played more last year but didnt bc Otis was a senior and shown too much loyalty. DP doesnt promise kids playing time. Until he does a la Otis.

A, I’m not sure just how true that statement is. And B, given Dowtin was in Kier’s class and Kier started as a freshman, I don’t think playing time would have been an issue, because, C, Javon Greene came in as a point guard and started off the ball. No reason Otis and Dowtin couldn’t have started together. And D, we have had freshmen starting all four years of Paulsen’s tenure.
