2019 Recruiting

The only logical thing to me is that either Jason Douglas-Stanley or Jamal Hartwell would be leaving with us going after Mika Adams-Woods. The only reasoning for Hartwell? Homesickness. On paper next year, he has a definite roll of at least 20 MPG if not more. I am sure that is a pain in the a** for him to fly cross-country to visit family.

think it through. We have Xavier Johnson signed and firmly committed for next year. We have Kier, Boyd, Mar, Greene, and Miller all returning on the wing next year. In addition, we are adding Daddy to that equation.

I highly doubt that if Reuter is deciding his future, we replace a big man with a point guard. It would make absolutely zero sense.

My guess is JDS. Only a guess.

I heard Grayer visiting UVa. Payback for Reuter. Wait did I dream this?

PVI's Ant Harris opens up his recruitment with Buzz out at VT...how about staying local with Oduro?

Anthony Harris, one of the top available 2019 guards, met with Roy Williams, Archie Miller, Patrick Ewing, Mark Turgeon, Mike Young, as well as assistants from Seton Hall & Wake Forest today at Paul VI.

But but where what about DP.

DP has the inside track. I'm sure he is all over rhe talent at PVI. Especially with Butler there. A Mason Alum on staff is a big advantage. If there is a relationship there. Maybe someone here can verify if LB and DP have a relationship?

Tre Wood played for LB and still picked UMaSS so who knows.

Catching up on this thread. What's so crazy about going into next season with Calixte, Oduro, Mar, Miller, and AJ as the frontcourt? Pretty normal balance of guards/forwards.

I think most of us are unsure if Mar, AJ, and Oduro can be solid contributors in the front court next season. Then you have to wonder if Miller is better suited to play the 3.

Understandable. But that doesn't mean the coaches see it the same way we do. They are obviously higher on Oduro, for instance, than we are (some of us don't even think he's a D1 player).

Mar lost all of the goodwill he earned for his freshman season, but Paulsen is still really high on him.

Miller can play both the 3 and 4, so long as he gets stronger in the offseason. Heck, Boyd can defend the 4 in emergency situations.

Lack girth and height. Oduro should redshirt. Have u seen the size of other top A10 teams' 4'& 5's?

Looks like half our coaches were looking to get jobs rather than recruit.

I understand the concern, but don't buy that it means a guard must be leaving. Five frontcourt players is a pretty normal distribution of schollies.

Re: Miller - don't think I'd ever want to pull him too far away from the basket. He's too good on the offensive glass.

He could become like Kent Bazemore who played the 3 and was a great offensive rebounder from the wing.

I agree. Who would ever want to be head coach at their alma mater or a perfect fit institution? :slanty:
