So 2 centers and a power forward. Fair? Do you start those three guys together is the real question. Especially when you also have Jaire Grayer on the roster too.

I think we are also projecting each player’s best season (which would for Marquise and Jalen be the year after in 2016-2017, Otis the year after that in 2017-2018). That team had some pretty big issues (mostly to do with balance, depth, and experience).
no I don't start all three. and I don't even agree with DJ3 that the team was Paulsen's most talented... but there Jalen Jenkins and Marko aren't 5's. that is my only point

Well, Jalen had a really fantastic senior year playing out of position, I guess.

Anyway, Paulsen thinks this is the most balanced roster he has and that everyone on scholarship is an A10 level player for the first time in his tenure. You can disagree with him.

Marko shot 30% from the 3 and 47% overall in 14-15. You tell me where you'd like him to shoot.

I don't disagree, shooting has def been an issue with DP teams so far. They moved the 3 back like 2 ft for this upcoming season also.....

OK swap out Grayer for Marko.

Perhaps I'm wrong that the 15-16 had the most talented roster. But I think they had the talent to be better than an 11-win team. In my opinion, Paulsen should have utilized Jenkins more.

We lose three A10 caliber players and bring in 1 that most think is and 2 that are virtually unknown so I don’t get your point or his if he said it that way. Jalen played the 5 primarily when shevon was on the team? Sometimes I think you don’t actually watch games

I strongly disagree with 2015/16 being the most talented roster. Kam Murrell played 12mpg. Danny Dixon played 8mpg.(By comparison, AJ and JDS combined for 20mpg this past year.) And they only won 11 games for a reason, namely poor depth and chemistry.

Aside from that, I think you’re remembering many of those players as what they would become, not what they were at the time. Otis, Jaire, Marquise, Deandre all shot below 40% that season. Shevon’s stats would lead you to believe he was better individually than the impact he had on the team that year. Every time I see his highlights from the G-league, I’m really jealous that we didn’t get that version of Shevon. Marquise and Jalen also made huge strides the following year.

Well he just finished practicing with them for four weeks, so I would trust his opinion over mine since all I’ve seen are highlight reels. Again, feel free to disagree with his assessment of his players, but I don’t know how much we can trust your assessment either.

And, yeah, Jalen played a lot of his minutes backing up Shevon and splitting time at the four. He started 4 games that year, so I don’t know where you think he was playing when Shevon was on the floor.

I like this ooc schedule. A lot of local teams should make for decent crowds at EBA. 2 months away from the first game vs Aaron Kelly!

Nov. 16: James Madison
Nov. 19: Loyola (Md.)
Nov. 22: at Maryland
Nov. 25: vs. Old Dominion (Cayman Classic)
Nov. 26: vs. Nebraska/Washington St. (Cayman Classic)
Nov. 27: vs. Cayman Classic
Dec. 3: Jacksonville St.
Dec. 7: American
Dec. 21: UMBC
Dec. 30: at TCU

I like this schedule. Lots of home games, game vs JMU, ODU and Nebraska/WSU in the Cayman Classic, a local roadie to get paid and down to DFW to get paid. I've said before I'd prefer ODU as a home-and-home. I know some will say this is a meh schedule, but given where we think this team is right now, this is a schedule that we need.

I concur. A little effeminate to start out, with Navy, Longwood, Long Island, and the chix from Madison, but picks up after that.

Should be 5-0 headed into the Maryland game. Which means 2-3 or 3-2.

GOLD SPONSOR
Nov. 8 vs. Longwood
To kick off Family Weekend, the Green & Gold will then host Longwood University on Friday, Nov. 8. Longwood is coming off one of the best seasons in the school's Div. I history. The Lancers won the second-most games in program annals, advanced to the postseason for the first time (CBI) and won a game in that tournament over Southern Miss. The Lancers welcome back top scorers Shabooty Phillips (14.0 ppg) and Jaylon Wilson (11.0 ppg) to the roster in 2019-20.

This is not a ooc schedule that makes me want to buy season tickets. These aren’t even decent to strong to mid-major home games. The quality of basket all will be mediocre at best.

It also doesn’t even give us much of a shot or even the fantasy of thinking we can get an at large. One loss at any of the home games and we are done. Even if we don’t lose those we need at least two out of three wins against the P5 we get to face and possibly win out against ODU and another decent mid major.

I hope they sell a conference only ticket package.

I think everyone is really underestimating the A10 conference. Do well in conference and you get a bid, no need for a super tough ooc. You can even cupcake your ooc, do well in conf and get a bid.

Look at vcu last season doing well in a weak A10. Their ooc wasn't anything impressive.

vcu also lost 3 A-10 games total.... doubtful for us this year...

UVA, Texas, Wichita St, College of Charleston, Hofstra, ODU, St Johns and Temple was a weak OOC? damn man I would love for you to tell me a strong OOC then...

You threw in teams they loss too lol and I didn't say weak. 2 of them went to the tournament and they only beat one of them. A strong ooc is if they all went to the tournament and they beat them all duh. Any of the teams on our ooc can make the NIT also so don't bring that up.

Also you brought up my point, do well in the A10 and you'll be good. If you don't think we can do that don't watch any games then, I don't see the point.

I said it was doubtful that we would only lose 3 games total including tourney in A-10.. I don't even think Jim and the other homers think that is a possibility. But sounds good. I won't watch any games then since you don't see the point

And your definition of what a OOC is comprised of is just not correct but that is common on this message board

If you lose 3 in a weak A10 and make it, you can lose 5-6 in a strong A10 and be ok right?

Georgetown's ooc was as cupcake as you could get and they still got into the NIT. Let's not give up all hope now.
